I've been driving for 15 years and have never gotten a speeding ticket. I don't even think I was speeding when I got pulled over! Anyway, there was also an error on the ticket (the fine didn't match the speed overage listed). I don't think my defense can be "I really wasn't speeding!" so what are my options?

If the answer is "No", presumably I can write a book called "The Da Vinci Code", call myself "Don Brown" and become a millionaire, as soon as I can find the time to write it!

In my opionion, Sarah Jane Porter has committed an act that will result in the pre-meditated murder of a man whom she persuaded to have natural sex with her in the clear knowledge that she would infect him with HIV. Having been prosecuted and found guilty of the lesser crime of GBH, she has committed murder and has been given a 36 month custodial sentence, of which she may well serve less than 24 months. How many other men and women out there are planning and carrying out similar murders? Will those numbers snowball now that is clear the law is a complete ***? For the record, this site edited my comparison of the law to a four legged beast of burden, not me!

I never heard of a politican not taking office because they failed their pre-employment drug screening. It might have caught Marion Barry ahead of time, and he was doing a lot worse than some bud in college to relax after exams.

If there is no screening in place, I say we lobby for random testing of our elected officials!!

Do you think it should depend on the nature of the crime, or the age of persons involved? I believe that most of them need to stay in jail for good. But that's just my opinion. Even if they are the lowest level offender, you never know who will do it again. What are your thoughts?

Important factors?

* More profits can be made from medicating the symptoms.
* If the symptoms are made into a political issue, then would finding a cure be counterproductive to being re-elected?
* What if finding a cure would take much more time than just medicating a symptom - why bother, right?
* What if you felt good about yourself that you hate people with the symptoms that you don't have?

What if the symptom is abortion? What is the disease? What is the cure?

My husband is in court today because someone said that he said something that he didn't say and they are calling it a terroristic threat (which is BS) hopefully he will be ok, but, if they do find him guilty, ... will they take him to jail today? Or bring him back later for a sentencing?

My husband and I were out on our pontoon one night when he noticed our stern light had gone out behind where I'd been sitting on the back of the boat. I moved to the driver's seat while he tried to fix the light. A DNR Officer came up along side us. I'd been drinking. He assumed I'd been driving. Tried to fight it in court but jury believed "Officer of the Law". Now convicted of BUI and sentenced to wear a S.C.R.A.M. ankle bracelet that detects alcohol in my system.

I have no problem not drinking, but it's sooooooooo embarassing to have to wear this "Scarlet Letter" bacelet when I've never committed any crime in my life! Most people have never heard of S.C.R.A.M. and will assume I'm under House Arrest!

I know I shouldn't care what others thinks but it's summertime and I'd rather not spend it in pants. Any ideas for a lady to disguise this bulky thing while wearing a dress, shorts or a bikini?!?

I was forced to quit my last job due to me being singled out and my hours cut. I had worked my tush off for this company for nearly a year and I was targeted and still don't know why. I will not sign a statment saying that I quit since I am trying to get unemployment (yes you can get it if you were forced to quit due to cut backs) and they aren't being nice about it. I have spoken to the place that deals with Labor Laws and they sent me paperwork to fill out if they refuse to give me my check due to that. Still I'd like to know what everyone else would do if you were in this situation, please no smart as* answers. I am doing my best to take care of a family and am looking for a new job and didn't do anything to deserve to have my hours cut.

Many basic rights taken for granted today were illegal and very unpopular in the not too distant past (interracial marriage, women voting) and were also labeled as blasphemy and against the word of God. Many of us find it hard to believe that the vast majority of people at those times were against these basic rights. Do you think we will view gay marriage/equality in this same light 100 years from now?

I hear all these answers about see an attorney and how so many would take my case if it were a strong one, but its not that I haven't tried. I have contacted at least five attorneys not counting the ones that screwed me and they declined to help me. All of these attorneys are connected and dont want to turn on their fellow peers. I need names of someone who might listen to me and help.
