there seems to be attempt by some to blur the lines between the two. Please tell us the difference between a legal law abiding immigrant as the USA has been built on, and an illegal non-law abiding alien.

I feel sad that the "illegals" are about to be given a better shot of living the American Dream rather than families/people who enter America in a just and honest way.

Loans - if an American student fails to repay the loan the government garnishes the persons future wages and tax returns until the debt is paid. But in the case of an illegal who fails and who isn't able to achieve a degree the government has no way to collect the money, as the illegal will slip right back into the shadows leaving taxpayers with the bill.

Grants - determined by income of the students family. Of course the illegal population will claim no income or as little income as they can get away with and any money made under the table will go unreported, so in essence the illegal will be taking money away from poor families who have reported what ever meager incomes they have.

Work study - each school only has a limited number of work study positions, and who are given these jobs? Why the poorest students of course, so the same rules that apply to grants also apply here, American families that are law abiding citizens are again at a disadvantage for being honest.

Borders have become the barricades. Happy living is becoming a pain in the..... Every able bodied person wants to overtake the other and cross over the borders to green pastures occupied by others. In this process, women, children and the elderly people are left to fend for themselves in garbage dropped by those who ran faster.

As Kris Kobach, visiting fellow at the Heritage Foundation, points out, a student from Missouri attending the University of Kansas with not so much as a parking ticket is charged three times the tuition as an illegal alien whose very presence is a violation of federal criminal law. Durbin wants to extend this nationwide.

Break this nation's laws, don't get caught, and U.S. taxpayers struggling to send their own kids to college, many taking out loans, will subsidize your kid's education as he takes up the spot that might have gone to the child of a veteran from, say, Operation Iraqi Freedom, who can't afford it because he or she was born in, say, Illinois.

Americans are beginning to wonder what benefits accrue to being a U.S. citizen when illegal aliens and their offspring are treated better than law-abiding citizens?

It is very sad to see good hardworking illegal immigrants worrying about deportation. I know people who work and do everything a regular family does; family re-unions and go on trips. Why is this issue not being addresed on a different perspective view, amnesty should be awarded to SOME people. Those who have worked and have no felonies. Im not saying that everyone should get amnesty, but what im saying is that most illegals have worked and called themselves citizens espicially if they've been here 20+ years. Oh and another question can someone under the age of 18 get amnesty if they've been here since 1-2 years old and plan to go to college.? please don't give me any "marry a whiteguy, or invest in $1 million for a business(whichi think is the most retarded thing congress has done in the immigration problem)

The caregiver is not formally educated beyond high school but she speaks the native language that we speak and has taken care of the elderly in India. She is not a registered nurse.

much it is 1.5 + 2.5, they cannot speak and write in English properly, they do not know much of geography, science and so on. Generally speaking, they are usually poorly skilled, however, they have great aspirations and demands. Therefore, I am not surprised their country needs so many people to do any useful job. Why is that, then, the people like those described above blame immigrants for everything what is going wrong in their country?

I read that often in here. And often right next to racist questions and answers.

And yes I believe that many people who are Antis are not racist. But I know that some are and they are not just a few people and they have a real influence in the Anti movement.

For example I have been called so far a dirty or worthless or trashy Mexican (rhymes as) "witch" "rut" "war" and "hunt". OK maybe you say they were just low lifes and trolls or that they are just words on a screen or that I deserve it if I am going to say controversial things.

And maybe that is true but that is not the point. The insults are not about me personally they are about people who think that it is ok to be racist and use the Anti movement as an excuse to be racist.

And when I read some things that Antis talk about doing I think of history..like Operation Wet back and other things.

So..this isn't about race?
