The Dream act is a back-door approach to give millions amnesty! Just like regular amnesty, it is a slap in the face and a kick in the gut to all law-abiding Americans!
EDIT: Michigander, you should do some research on this act. You are totally wrong. Not only do the kids get amnesty but they can bring their whole family here and they get amnesty. Then those family members can bring others, and they get amnesty.
There are so many exceptions to this law. The students DON'T always have to graduate for high school to be here. They DON'T always have to go to college.

This version is, particularly when combined with the waivers for family unification tied to it so parents can be petitioned once the kids are legal, and the waivers can even apply if they committed a crime or are not 'of good moral character'. Plus the diversity preferences and unstated income reality means that their children are not 'competing equally' for already too limited funds, but come across the border and step right in FRONT of our children. It is bad enough that when kids legally here graduate public middle school they are likely to be the only kids in their class who are not bilingual because language goes only to those who don't know English now, this carries the prejudice in education against our own children into college, as well.

Yea. NAFTA , The SPP , The Border Patrol , and the FTAA agreement, are all big fat slaps in the face.
Take this into consideration :
We gave amnesty to mexicans in the 1980's.
Those three million mexicans definatley had kids.
We have many LEGAL immigrants who wont get hired. Why pay a legal mexican more then a illegal one? whats it matter if they both dont speak english right?
WRONG. the current immigration laws are just ways to errode soverignty in the united states. Well , whatever. Maybe we'll have financial aid reform when we form the NORTH AMERICAN UNION. yahoo it :-P

No, I dont think it is. Based on the fact that there are serveral requirements to be eligible:
1.Having graduated from an American High School, or obtained a GED.
2."Good moral character," essentially defined as the absence of a significant criminal record (or any drug charges )
3.Proof of having arrived in the United States at age 15 or younger;
4.Proof of residence in the United States for a least five (5) consecutive years since their date of arrival.
and evenafter you've met those, you have to accomplish one of three requirements in order to be able to saty here legally
During the six years of conditional status, the eligible immigrant would be required to either (1) graduate from a two-year community college, (2) complete at least two years towards a 4-year degree, or (3) serve two years in the U.S. military.

It is another chance for Congress to give most Americans the middle finger. Congress has been told NUMEROUS times that over 70% of Americans don't want amnesty and they don't care. They just package it differently and make up a sweet and loving name for their horse poo poo.
The Dream act stinks just a bad as the amnesty bill in June!

i appreciate the letter and it replaced into very thoughtfully written. i think of of in basic terms with the aid of complete repudiation of the Democratic regulations with the aid of ability of the voters, the Congress ought to shop on with the organisation of a relentless determination for the cost style and taking on the status of the Bush tax cuts.

It is a spit on the face of all Americans and all who came here and became citizens "LEGALLY".
It is also a prime example of the effort by the illegals and the their supporters to errode and corrupt the justice-based system of this country. They have to!! because most of these illegals are so bloody comfortable when they get away with anything, just like home!! Except that at home, these leeches couldn't get through much without paying up their throats to every official involved, let alone having their children going to college without prestiges they could never have.

boy are you generous, I bet you wouldn't be so generous if you yourself had to jump through all the immigration hooplas,(which include stringent academic and financial requirements) pay more than double tuition than regular citizens for the same kind of education, and not allowed to work legally (except for $5.75 on campus jobs)during your study and not until you pay some thousands of dollars to immigration and lawyers to get your work visa and greencard.
AND INSTEAD OF BRINGING ME ACROSS THE BORDER ILLEGALLY WHEN I WAS 3 AND STEALING PUBLIC RESOURCES FOR MY SCHOOLING, MY PARENTS PROVIDED ME GREAT PUBLIC EDUCATION WITH THEIR OWN MONEY, TAUGHT ME GREAT VALUES AND MADE SURE I ALWAYS OBEY THE LAWS, ALWAYS HAVE HONORABLE ASPIRATION IN LIFE.
AND UNLIKE THESE IRRESPONSIBLE ILLEGAL PARENTS, MY PARENTS WAVED GOODBYE TO ME AT THE AIRPORT WITH TEARS IN THEIR EYES, KNOWING THAT I WOULD ALWAYS DO THE RIGHT THING AND MAKE THEM PROUD!!
