great question. and some people do not even understand that no most countries do not require the use of English. Spanish is required here, stupid law.
i have been to 6 countries out of the USA and no country requires their citizens or companies to use English, but had no problem speaking American English any where but Norway. all others do because they now the USA is the economic power and they all want our money.
it's funny the only place you go into a large business and they don't speak American English is the USA.

No... why would they? People from other language-speaking countries have to learn Spanish before they go to Mexico. Even though they do teach English... most of Mexico's population do not speak English.
