who can blame them if they can get something for nothing.
the answer to the problem is not giving anyone any benefit unless they have paid into the system for at least 5 years - ( IE. worked and paid tax and nhs contributions) that should improve the balance of payments a little.
I'm sick of money I've worked for being given to outsiders .
maybe everyone on unemployment or other related benefit should have to contribute 15 hours a week to the state - at least our streets might be cleaner and the graffiti might be removed quicker.

Under the present rules the benfits agency right now could say no to European immigrants claim for benefit as the chidren wife etc are not residing with the claimant they have the power to decide is eligible they could insist thst the chil's claim to benefit belongs to the polish government as the child lives in Poland. I do think that if the child lives in this country with the parent that in that situation they have a legitimate right to thi benefit particularly if they were born here.

We have much to learn from the US being that they have always been prudent housekeepers in relation to their Tax Dollars. But even their it has run out of control. The answer may be to issue all with the disputed ID cards, and zero tolerance to those who violate the laws.Their cultures are to blame for what they do,they were born into an uncaring society and it is all they know.Meanwhile we have to live with it.Governments pay little or no attention to the wishes of its people only at Election times.

what i dont understand is why when i was living in eire, and on a high income, i was paying PRSI as its called there €45 per week on average, you paid for health care, and could claim NO benefits until you had paid into the system for 5 years,
why do the uk allow people to claim if they have paid nothing in.
i have been informed that as i didn`t pay for the years i was abroad i will only get a reduced pension, its ok though. i will get it as i was in eire

It's called equality. They have been invited here to fill the gap in skilled and unskilled work. They have the same rights as eveyone else.I wonder how fast all the moaners on here would pack thier bags and go to live somewhere else if the need arose.Oh not many...too flippin idle and happy to stay on benefits.

Send me some pamphlets on this.....There are 12 million ILLEGALS in the U.S. that might be interested. They already have 10 kids and have already crossed the river by swimming....
I think this would be a quicker way of getting rid of them.
It is just a bigger pond....

i live in Belfast(Ireland) and everywhere i go in the city centre i get harassed by big issue sellers. i don't know where the hell they're from but they sure ain't locals. but the same "homeless" big issue sellers are working in some of the stores in the city centre and they shop in marks and sparks, i cant even afford to take a leak in there. from west Belfast right through to east Belfast there's about 50 newspaper sellers of Asian ethnicity, they stand in the middle of the road trying to sell the papers. i don't know where they came from, i think they parachute in. but not their fault its the newspaper company that exploits them. but what riles me is pre ceasefire outsiders would'nt have stopped for a piss in belfast, but now theres a ceasefire people cant get over here quick enough. locals are being forced out of jobs and out of the housing market. i dont even qualify for a housing executive house and i've lived here my whole life. but i do know theres a lot of people getting of the planes and walking straight into a house, i include a lot of ex-pats in that statement. i'm pissed off with the whole situation i'd be better off dead.

So what?! If I go to France, I don't claim for my children because their healthcare is better.
If you want to work in this country, that's fine but if the people you are claiming for are not here, don't claim for them.
