I thought a beaner was a baseball pitched to close to a batter in the game of Baseball. (Or a pitch that hits the batter resulting in a "walk").

The integration into our society by immigrants is becoming more and more difficult because the responsibility for this is being placed with the indigenous population. This is grossly unfair as integration is only successful if both sections of society make an effort. Many immigrants are employed in British owned companies and organisations, but how many Brits are employed by Immigrant Asian or Muslim owned organisations? There was never a law to restrict the habitat or immigrants so why do they all hone in on the same districts of our cities when they could live anywhere and integrate. Britain is their host country, their new homeland and they should demonstrate loyalty in every respect. 'Home Grown' terrorists with strong anti-British beliefs should be reported to the law by their own people if persuasion within their own community fails. Representatives of all religions and races were killed in the London bombings - was that a good example of integration into UK Society?

He was one of the drafters of Prop 187 which passed but was overturned by a court and never appealed.

The current petition would amend the California constitution to deny in-state tuition and non-federally mandated benefits. In addition, it would require the state to defend it against court challenge AND WOULD GIVE CITIZENS A RIGHT OF ACTION TO ENFORCE IT.

Here is a link to his web page where you can download the petition:

I'm about to move to the UK soon, using my EU passport (of Slovakia).
In the UK, I'd like to be self-employed, selling tiny statues made by a friend - a highly valued young artist.
Suppose initially I'd sell only a few statues per day (too low a volume for a company...), what "documentation" must I have (from the UK authorities) in order to be allowed to start selling?

Thank you.

According to independent studies that factor in a number of aspects such as infrastructure, incomes, healthcare, poverty, crime, education, personal liberties, life expectancies, demographics, etc. the USA is not the best place to live.

The top three countries are all in northern Europe: Iceland, Norway and Sweden. But it's too cold there for me, plus they don't speak English.

There are only three english speaking countries in the Top 10 of the list, they are: Australia, Canada and New Zealand

Canada is out of the question for me, because it's too close to the US and plus it's also cold there.

So my two choices are really just Australia and/or New Zealand.

My question is, if there are any US Expats who have made the decision to leave and settle in another country for a better quality of life, which of these two countries is better and which country is easier to get legal residence papers for?

I'm specifically interested in Australia and New Zealand.

Thanks in Advance!

are arrested for some "plot" that you never hear about it again? The tv will report that 20 or 50 people were arrested and you never hear about the case again? Is this kind of like the Holocaust?

I know an immigrant that speaks English quite well, and yet she is teaching her young daughter Spanish instead of English. This is going to come out of our school tax dollars eventually. Why should we have to pay for this? Why do we have to pay extra for teachers that speak Spanish, when this is the United States?

Dick Mountjoy was one of the drafters of Proposition 187 in California which denied beneifts to illegal immigrants, only to be struck down in a court case our then Democratic Governor didn't appeal. His polls are in the 30 somethings while Feinstein's are in the 50 somethings with many not knowing who Dick Mountjoy is. Instead of passing the message to raise his visability, the GOP is essentially bowing out.

Compare this to Randy Graf in Arizona, where the GOP backed a competitor in the PRIMARY, an unheard of event, but the competitor was for a guest worker program, and Graf is not. Graf won the primary, but is now getting precious little support in the main event.

Feinstein is popular, and I voted for her before. However, the impacts of illegal immigration are far too huge, particularly on our schools in California, for me to vote again for someone who voted for the Senate Bill. Where exactly does she think all those new poor people whose taxes can't pay for school will go?

My fiance sent out his naturalization application package last week in California. I know military personnel can apply for citizenship under special provisions, but how long does it usually take till he gets a letter of the interview date or the oath of allegiance date?

I heard the service center in California is now backed up, so I'm very worried...

Sorry for my poor English...

Many immigrants have entered this country LEGALLY. How is it fair to those trying to enter America legally versus those who enter illegally? Is the U.S. government saying, "Come on. Enter illegally and get amnesty. You do not have to obey any laws to get here."? What type of message does amnesty send the world?

I have had this question removed on three separate occasions, I dont understand what the problem is. Here is the "Question": " Assume that I am totally ignorant of the immigration situation in America, Please give me your best argument in order to vconvince me that your position is the correct one to follow." This is your big chance, dont blow it!

FEMA CONCENTRATION CAMPS

There over 800 prison camps in the United States, all fully operational and ready to receive prisoners.

They are all staffed and even surrounded by full-time guards, but they are all empty.

These camps are to be operated by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) should Martial Law need to be implemented in the United States and all it would take is a presidential signature on a proclamation and the attorney general's signature on a warrant to which a list of names is attached.

The Rex 84 Program was established on the reasoning that if a "mass exodus" of illegal aliens crossed the Mexican/US border, they would be quickly rounded up and detained in detention centers by FEMA

Ok folks i have been reading these boards for a few days now and find myself sickened by certain attitudes displayed on here. Now i will ask you this simple question.
When will people learn to accept that people are people and not defined by race colour or religion?
Yes there are bigots in all the different areas of government, religion and region but why do you feel the need to follow thier lead? Its as if you are sheep.
Racism is not big and its not clever. Its the sign of a closed mind.
Its time folk learnt to open thiers.Do you agree with this?

Identity theft is a felony. Why is it that when an illegal uses your identity they are not charged accordingly? Instead, there are certain people that will say "Awww, poor illegals, they just want a better life." (By the way, I hope that these peoples identities are stolen and that they have to deal with the problem firsthand)
Can anybody explain why this is?
