Dont worry I dont plan to become an illegal alien, I was just thinking it might be easier to find a job while you're there rather than halfway across the world. Thanks

Actually I already have a tourist visa (10 years), so no problem applying for one. The thing is I want to work and live there, legally of course

If you are asking if you can, the answer is "yes." If you are asking if it's wise, the answer is "no." It's not worth getting caught for something small such as that.

The wisest thing to do is applying a job from wherever you are, besides, most of the jobs now in the U.S are usually applied online. If you get hired, they'll send you the necessary paperwork for you to apply for a work visa. A tourist visa will not let you work in the U.S.

Corrections to some of the above answers.

- A tourist visa (B-2) doesn't just last 3 or 6 months. The I-94 might allow you to stay only 3-6-9 months (and you can apply for an extension), but a visa might have the validity of 10 years and some might even say "mutiple entries" (depending of the country).

- They don't check your credit, unless you have some type of criminal record.

- No, you will NOT become a criminal if you actually look for a job on a tourist visa. The word criminal is too harsh. Funny thing is that whoever said that you'll become a criminal is an American, and he can't even differentiate between American criminal laws with other types of laws. And hunt you down??? nah! I don't think so...

- A huge percentage of employees in big corporations are or were at some point foreigners. Cultural diversity is one of the most important elements for the sucess of any business/society.

Good Luck in your job hunting!

Campervans are a solid option outdoors the huge cities and once you're on the flow. even nonetheless, in places like Sydney you will no longer be able to merely sleep in carparks, and all the caravan parks and tenting grounds are nowhere close to somewhat some the roles. there is the extra worry that if considered one of you has to tension someplace you may p.c.. each little thing up and take your chum with you, except you have a campervan for short maintains to be and a solid sized tent for longer maintains to be - lots of folk try this.

If you come to the United States on a tourist visa and you over stay and start working, ,,you just broke our American laws and we will hunt you down and deport you because you became a criminal. And we are not worry , you should be worry because we will catch you.

I would think the American government would not look kindly on this since you are applying for a student visa, not a work permit. I think you probably have to HAVE a job in the US to get a work permit green card. Sorry no short cuts.

a tourist visa only lasts up to 6 months, but usually only 3 months.

plus, you're not entitled to work with a visitor visa, so i'm not sure how you will get a job like that.

when you get hired in the US, you have to fill out a TON of paperwork. they do background checks, criminal checks, even credit checks, check if you are allowed to work in the country etc.

it's almost like communisim....

job hunting? it's not a bad idea, if you can meet potential employers face-to-face. having a job lined up beforehand should make your work-visa application easier; of course, you'd have to go home in the interim.

That's not a great way to spend your vacation, if in the end you don't find a job.
