Nope, they've tried it a couple different ways, though, trying to sign illegal aliens to vote, pushing for american hispanics to run for office as in L.A., ('mexican' mayor of Los Angeles), and now most recently threatening to go to the UN now that we're finally enacting border enforcement. They're crafty, gotta give em that...but they have no lawful right to tell us how to maintain/secure /not secure our border.
Here's where you get into the whole 'you stole our land from us' trip....decades of apologist politics have imbued some people with a sense of entitlement, and that now extends to some ideas like 'reconquista', or 're-conquest'. UN-fortunately, that just ain't gonna happen, and they kind of did it to themselves with the Mayday rallies, people saw JUST what they had to look forward to unless the border issue gets fully addressed, and now it's happening, and the pro-illegal/pro-Mexico types are trying to fight tooth and nail to fight the US/Mexico border fence.
But, the list of damages is too long, the evidence is on the table,
and they're going to have to end up going home, and taking care of their own problems...I think the whole business is far from over, but give it a year, and when no US business will hire an illegal alien for fear of getting taken to court and shut down,
you'll start seeing people moving back home 'cause they won't have coverage under welfare etc. either. It comes literally down to the question of 'whose country IS it, anyway'?, and we've done ourselves a lot of damage over the years by adopting too liberal a stance with the whole mess, trying the 'give Mexico a big cookie, and it'll make it all better' approach, and it just hasn't worked out...
with all the billions and billions that we've dumped into that country, they should be on their own 2 feet by now, but again, it just hasn't worked out, hence the need for a border fence and border legislation.
November should be interesting, we'll see how well the democrats handle the illegal immigration issue if/when they gain a majority in Congress...here's hoping they wear their thinking caps to the poll booth and beyond...

Clearly, these are a deeply complicated questions. The idea of following a third world neighbors example is a bit ludicrous. We do not follow examples of genital mutilation or plural wives. America has always been a nation that by it's very foundation has done things starkly different from the rest of the world. ` Should we have stricter immigration laws? NO. Legally our restrictions on immigration are rather strict. We do allow immigration, but have background checks and limits. Our real problem is illegal immigration. We have already taken some steps to limit this and should continue.

First, we aren't going to build any fence. That is one stupid idea. By the time they would even get it started, the idiot in the White House will thankfully be gone. Politics is complicated and messy. There are all sorts of weird agreements, under the table garbage, corruption and high finance. The Mexican government can't "dictate" our laws.

Legally N O,but what there going to try to do is get the U N to treat it as a boundary dispute, and get sympathy for the POOR MEXICANS,Who are only trying to survive.I don't remember the exact figure, but it is in the BILLIONS,as to how much money they send back to MEXICO,AND i DON'T BLAME THEM FOR THAT BUT THEY NEED TO DO IT LEGALLY...The amount they send home is second only to the OIL money the govt hoards for themselves...MEXICO complains about our immigration rules when theirs are far more strict than ours,do some investigating into their immig. policies, and it will stun you beyond belief

You want to stop Mexicans from coming to the US, then tell your Congressman you want them to help improve Mexico's economy and I gaurantee the number of illegal immigrants coming into the US will decrease by 75% and you won't need a fence that will cost you your tax dollars. They only come to the US because we have so many jobs for them that they don't have in their own country. Get them jobs in mexico and there won't be anymore problems.

the Mexican government needs to focus on cleaning up the Mexican government so all of their citizens should not be so hell bent on getting out. We should also stop western union for letting them wire money out of our economy

Nope, not at all. They could have a little input if they would repay us the $69 Billion a year it costs us to support their runners. Until then, they can just shut the hell up.

Unfortunately for us, there are those that think they do on both sides of the border.
Even tho, I think the "fence" is one of the worst ideas to come out of D.C. It is still an attempt, rather than ignoring the situation.
I think that rather than send them back as illegals, give them the option to naturalize, and if they choose not to become valid citizens, then put them on civil chain gangs.
Put them on civil chain gangs when they are caught breaking our laws instead of sending them back for "prosecution"

No I think they should have no say as long as they continue to be as corrupt as they are.....The government that is... this is no reflection on the Mexican race.... they have no control over their government just as we do not control ours
