The name for them I think is Illegal Alien Detention Camps, they are a long way from being a "concentration" camp by its historic meaning. That term is used to incite the pro illegals in to a frenzy of protest by the liberals.
There's nothing wrong with arresting and taking people to a central area to await deportation.I personally think its a idea that should be considered as a solution to the huge deportation issue. Our jails are already over crowded and this would work if done properly.I know that any thing done like this would be done in a very humane way and the illegals would be treated fairly. If faced with the possibility of this type of detainment ,a large number of illegals would leave this country of their own and that would lessen the number to be deported also.No amnesty by any name for any one from any country

Nope, because having people in prison camps or whatever would still be having people being supported by the american taxpayer. The basic idea, I think, is to encourage Mexico to start solving its' own problems, taking care of its' own people, and by and large STOP being a burden on the United States. NO prison camps, no mealy-mouth, just get the border fence built, and get a new border treaty with Mexico while we're at it so this never happens again. It's in their best interest to stop illegal immigration also, believe it or not, if all their best people bolt for the US, there's no one left behind to build what THEY need, namely the sameo same-o, roads, schools, hospitals, homes, jails, all that good infrastructure stuff that they can use as a stepping-stone up and out of poverty and the mess they're in today.
Mexico's got money, it's time to ask to see some results. We give Mexico billions annually, we give em 5 times that by the time you get done calculating all the impact that illegal immigration from Mexico has had on our economy. in all sorts of ways.
They really need to get it done, and they won't do it until/unless the other options are dried up. So, again, let's have the border fence, new border treaty, unity across all 50 states on dealing with illegal immigration, and an end to the sob stories, the whole flippin' soap opera. So long, thanks for visiting, but party's over...

They are not concentration camps. I don't know about these particular ones, but what I have heard of is detention facilities because when people have to be deported far away they were being told to 'come back to be deported', due to lack of prison space. Guess what? They don't come back. There are about 600,000 with actual deportation orders on them who did not come back to be deported after we spent all that money and time on judges for formal deportation orders. The detention centers will just hold them until deportation. Assuming the administration starts really enforcing, which I don't see much sign of, yet.
Publicizing more broadly a rate of enforcement equal to last year or a tick above does not signal broad enforcement, to me.

The plans you describe sound as though they were drawn up for a situation such as the Mariel exodus of Cuba in the 1980's. The US was flooded with refugees then, and this could theoretically happen with Mexico. The Rex 84 It would involve capturing refugees at the border as they fled into the US, not the round up of settled people from their homes and jobs all over the country that you contemplate.
This government contingency plan is a temporary measure to deal with a natural disaster or some huge political problem in Mexico, what you are proposing sounds more like the round up of Jews done by the Nazis (minus the forced labor and gassing).

Of course they are. Just like the moon landing was all a big hoax perpetrated in some Hollywood movie studio and 9/11 was planned and carried out by the Bush administration. By the way, did you know that Elvis has been found working for a road crew in Mississippi (got tired of seven nights a week in Las Vegas and decided to make some easy cash sitting on his @$$ all day) and the X-Files are all based on true stories? Gimme a break...

Deportation of Mexicans good luck on that one, be screwing up than 12 million people illegally here, would screw over 70 to 80 million American Citizens. Were so interconnected with Mexico if all 12 million Mexican decided to go home the American economy GDP would contract by 20 percent, and we have hyperinflation because produce, and foodstuffs would rapidly rise in price. Concentration camps are barbaric, and deportation near Guatemala more effective.

No. Send them back to where they came from. "Imprisoning" them will only add a cost burden to our system (further increasing our taxes). However, locating the illegals will be a massive challenge.
As for the empty facilities . . . turn them into schools and shelters. If they are controlled by FEMA, the camps would be their responsibility and be best used during times of natural disaster (e.g hurricanes, tornadoes).
PS - We shouldn't limit our identification of "illegal aliens" to the people arriving from and through Mexico. There is a broader international population coming in to the US through a myriad of entrances.

No. Deport them and watch the standard of living of Americans sink to the toilets.
It's obvious both conservaties and liberals support the presense of illegal immigrants, liberals on humanitarian grounds, conservatives on free-markter slavery ideals.
