Considering the fact the politicians are selling off America piece by piece and your children's inheritance.

I think the Minutemen are doing a fine job making the issues known.

The Minutemen of course.

I think it boils down to motive. If you see in this situation people that abuse our land and borders that could be very dangerous for us and you want to protect your country and it's citizens, that's patriotic. If you see only the hordes of Mexicans-and as some have posted, don't bathe, work, etc-that come through the border, that's racist.
On the flip side, if you want people to have a fair shot and see too much racism in the debate, that could be it's own kind of patriotic. However, if you want legalization because you or your family come from a certain country, because you want to exploit people and their cheap labor, because you are illegal yourself, or any other private agenda- this is not patriotic(at least not to the U.S).

The Minutemen. They are not all about thier own gain.

Give us a harder one...

To Tom, below, the Constitution and Bill of Rights actually are very in line with vigilante-ism, when the government fails to act. Reporting people to the border patrol is hardly 'mob justice', also.

No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots. The Minutemen live up to this infamous quote. Too bad that there are so few of them.

Well, it's also said that 'patriotism is the last refuge of scoundrels', 'scoundrels' meaning people of poor character, villains, or rogues.

That doesn't mean that all patriots are by definition villains or rogues, but that some that take up the tune of patriotism do so under false pretenses, often for personal material gain etc.

You could read and write books and books on patriotism, but the common concept of pride and allegiance to ones' country is still a common theme, and a popular one, nonetheless beware of people loudly calling themselves patriots...and keep one hand on your wallet...because there's probably money involved...

it sounds like you've already made up your own mind......

but i will give you a divergent point of view: the minutemen are a bunch of idiots who are a disgrace to the true minutemen in america's history....

on one hand they are "fighting" illegal immigration by "protecting" our southern border...... all the while benefiting from the cheap labor the illegal immigrants provide all americans including you and me!!!!!!!!

Politicians aren't patriotic they are money hungry, get all they can get and don't honor any thing above money.
The Minute Men are made up of people that love this country This is the pledge they all take.

A Minuteman upholds the Constitution of the United States of America, and reveres the American Creed that unites us as one people, our Declaration of Independence.

A Minuteman knows well America is a nation of immigrants, and realization of our national promise has always relied upon those who come to America from other countries to participate fully, with their children and descendants, as loyal and law-abiding U.S. citizens.

A Minuteman believes that just as ethnicity, race, religion and all such factors are incidental and do not affect our God-given, constitutional equality as American citizens, such factors are also irrelevant in the debate over illegal immigration. There is no tolerance among Minutemen for racism or bigotry - E Pluribus Unum - Out of Many, One.

A Minuteman believes in a strong, safe and secure America that begins with borders open only to those who have a legal right to enter, and who have met all the lawful criteria to cross into our territory established by the sovereign American people.

Minutemen vow to use every legal means at our disposal to assist law enforcement authorities in identifying and apprehending those who violate our borders, whether they are illegally trafficking people, weapons, arms, property, sexual slaves or any other contraband.

Minutemen vow to report to the proper authorities any business entity which knowingly recruits, facilitates or employs people who have entered America illegally, or which cooperates in any commercial activity which involves contraband smuggling or marketing of persons, products or material.

Minutemen promise to raise our voices -- on cellular phones along the borders of America and in the halls of Congress -- in the defense of the rule of law. The American people are firm but fair, and we share their great compassion for the many powerless victims of cruel, illegal human trafficking and labor exploitation. But we also support our citizens' adamant rejection of the blatant disregard for our laws and ordered liberty represented by the U.S. government's failure to secure our borders, enforce our nation's sovereignty and end the flood of illegal trafficking into American territory.

I vow before God and my fellow Americans that these principles guide my actions as a Minuteman. "Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty..." And so I will stand watch on America's borders and in her sovereign interest until relieved from duty by my fellow countrymen.

Doesnt sound like a bunch of haters does it ? Because they arent, there are men and women of all races in the Minute Men.
