Mexico's not alone, but is our biggest 'customer' on illegal immigration. What measures do you think are necessary/prudent to put the brakes on illegal immigration, not only from Mexico, but from anywhere?

I GUESS NEED TO CLARIFY THIS FOR SOME OF YOU.. I AM QUOTING THIS GIRL...NAMED BUNT....she said this and I am quoting her!!!!

" because Americans are mostly empty-headed, too vane, arrogant and have no spirituality. You like to talk about your McCar, you McMansion, your ego in general, while most European women like things subtle ,and slow. Someththing you can't grasp at all. Go for a big-mouth empty-headed American woman with a fake nose, fake boobs, fake hair etc. Easy to find, easy to sleep with, easy to dump".

meanwhile, she lives here in the U.S. and gets very upset about her "pending" status as a citizen of this beautiful country of ours...

to NOT allow these same people who are here to work, to bring any other family members with them?
In other words, if a married man wants to come here to pick lettuce and has a wife and children, that man can come and work but the wife can not come if she is not working here in the US and most certainly the children are not allowed to come (under any circumstances) as they are clearly non productive, non worker types.
This would allow us the workers we need, and no other, non productive contributing people could/would legally be allowed in the country unless they went through proper channels of immigration.
We/the corporations would have our cheap labor that everyone seems to want, and the "blood sucking" aspect of illegal immigration would be minimized at our schools and and social services aspects. Plus we wouldn't have skads of pregnant women and large families competing with Americans for the services we all pay taxes for and have worked all our lives to have should we need th

To the rest of you who have no clue what you're talking about, here are the facts:

This came from a previous poster who said Illegals cost the taxpayer's money.

$11 BILLION to $22 BILLION is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year.
http://www.fairus.org/site/pageserver?pa...

$12 BILLION DOLLARS is spent a year on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally.

CNN
http://transcripts.cnn.com/transcripts/0...

Let's say there are 10 million illegals in the country. If each illegal only contributes 1 DOLLAR a day in sales tax (this is just sales tax on food or other stuff - doesn't even include income taxes which over 50% of illegals pay by using fake SS numbers), then the Federal Government would earn 36.5 Billion Dollars on income from those taxes. That would pay for the entire costs listed above and still leave money left over.

But we all know that the true figures are much much higher than that, so the Govt profits many many more billions on illegals.

Why do people think it is just Mexicans who come here illegally. In this area we are having Imdoneions deported every month. That is because these people dont hide, they just surrender & go away. Most have family here & overstayed their work visa. But lets go after ALL the people who DO NOT belong here.

Ok I'm a Democrat, a liberal, and a descendent of an illegal immigrant. (Long story) I'm a person who believes in amnesty for otherwise law abiding illegal immigrants who only came here to work and better their lives rather than working for peanuts.
Some people on this board have different ideas. .
But is it right to call me Anti-American because I disagree with you? That's nasty and we are never going to find a solution that way. I say no more questioning the patriotism of people who disagree with you, just because they disagree with you.? Who's with me?

Opinion
Keep immigration debate civil

Arnold Schwarzenegger
By not finishing comprehensive immigration reform this year, Congress left behind a poisoned debate that will continue to fuel a growing anger in our country.
Hispanic leaders, meeting in Los Angeles last week, were already debating whether they should continue marching in the streets, disrupt the economy or register voters. At the same time, people who are angry about the federal government’s failure to stop illegal immigration have introduced local measures to take away housing, jobs and even medical assistance from noncitizens in their communities. On both sides, people are demanding to be heard.
Now Congress has walked away from the debate, at least for this year. So it’s up to the rest of us to tone down our rhetoric and listen to the voices on all sides. As an immigrant to this country and a proud American citizen, I have a unique perspective (Cont. link)http://rds.yahoo.com/S=53720272/K=illegal+immigration/v=2/SID=e/l=NSR/R=25/;_ylt=A9htfMJx8jBFvAoB0gzQtDMD;_ylu=X3oDMTBkdHNpdDlqBHBvcwMyNQRzZWMDc3I-/SIG=12nqmmg27/EXP=1160922098/*-http%3A//www.agweekly.com/articles/2006/10/12/news/opinion/opin03.txt

Critics Say Immigration Parody Song Is Racist

Mary Stewart
Reporting

(CBS 11 News) WACO A central Texas country music band has produced a song that they say is a humorous spoof on a serious subject - illegal immigration, but critics say its fueling racism.

In Waco the song is rubbing some Hispanics the wrong way.

At one club, its dance night and the audience is waiting for one song - "So Long Texas - Hello Mexico."

The song conjures up a Texas cowboy moving to Mexico to live off the Mexican government. The lyrics have the cowboy singing about how turn-about is fair play with Mexicans illegally moving here.

Singer Johnnie Bradshaw suspected the song could be controversial, ( full story in link)

RELATED STORIESTwo bills, one in the U.S. House and one in the U.S. Senate, provide different views of immigration. Both, however, impact illegal immigrants, border security and punishment for those who interact with illegal immigrants.
The bills differ in many ways. One of the major differences is H.R. 4437 defines all illegal immigrants as felons, while S. 2611 increases the number of worker visas and allows illegal immigrants living here for more than five years to become legal, permanent residents.

"The House bill has a narrower focus, mostly on border security and enforcement," said U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Holland. Hoekstra also said he is leery of providing citizenship to those already in the U.S. illegally.

Parts of the House bill include:

* Building of a 700-mile long fence along the U.S./Mexico border.

* Making it a felony to assist, encourage or direct people to enter country illegally.

* Making illegal presence in the country is a felony

Some parts of the Senate bill:

* Calls for 300 miles of fencing along the U.S./Mexico border and 500 miles of vehicle barriers.

* Requires employers within 18 months on electronic system to verify hires are legal.

* Creates a guest-worker program for 1.5 million immigrant farm workers who can also earn legal permanent residency.
