The first US boarder patrol was established in 1848 after the U.S. paid Mexico 10 million dollars for the land South of the Gilla river, east to El Paso and west to California. It was known as the Gadsden purchase and the boarder patrol was established to stop Asian workers from crossing into the U.S. via Mexico.
