No they hold you like a hostage in the hospital until someone or a family member comes to pay your billl........this is not even a joke ask anyone

Unlike all the ignorant racists that have answered you question here is the truth, yes we have health care and it is and has been for some time the health care system on which a lot of countries have designed theirs, and yes you can use the health system if (like illegals over there) you get a job the difference is that we do not campaign to take the service away from illegals (who pay taxes and get no benefits ) because taxes paid by the employer is where the money comes from, we do not have to have an HMO or insurance and all that crap you put up with, everything is free, doctor´s fee, the medicine, the hospital and any surgical procedure including heart transplants, liver transplants or whatever you need to have, so there, ask anyone from Mexico you will see...

First of all NO you pay up front so no pay no care...But, the health care is very good and very affordable. I had my appendix, one ovary, and a fallopian tube all removed in a hospital in Mexico a five day stay in the hospital, private room all for the price of $350. And I was able to make arrangements to pay it off although for the initial emergency room visit it was $15 and another $20 for X-rays. Hospital stays are the only health care that's payed for at the end of your visit. And if you don't pay your not thrown in a horrid Mexican jail. its simple your not able to leave the hospital until you pay the price just gets a little higher. Although as i mentioned i was able to make a reasonable down payment of $200 then allowed to pay the rest off over a couple of months. But I think the payment plan only works if you live in Mexico I'm not sure. And I am a US citizen....an illegal alien here. And for the record no one here treats me different or tries to throw me out of their country. they are very polite and kind. So all of the US people who are so rude to Mexicans should come over here and see how they would be treated. And no one complains that I'm over here and my children go to public school here and there are times I cant pay for things at school and no one calls me or my children freeloaders. This is for a couple of people who already answered the question.....Just how many Americans ruin your health care and run up cost by not paying their bills at the hospital? I'm sure way more of them then Illegals. Instaed of blamming the Mexicans for eveything maybe you guys should take responsibility for the problems you've created yourselves. And if the U S had affodable health care like Mexico maybe more people would pay the bills.

You will not get healthcare in Mexico without either being a Mexican citizen with proof of citizenship, or withou payin upfront.
Here is this country there is no "free" healthcare for illegals, Hospitals must provide the care upfront and then are allowed to bill the patient for the costs. The illegal then must pay or face having his/her nonexistent credit ruined. Most pick that dreaded choice and lose their chance of ever having a FICO score above 500

I didn't think so, but, Carlos below says we can. But Carlos, if it is so great, the healthcare and such and is free, then why would anyone want to come here where you have to pay the rising costs of healthcare? That don't make a lot of sense. Even if the jobs pay lower, you still would come out ahead I would think.

No Richard, Mexico is very unfriendly to illegal aliens. If you don't pay the bill they will stick you in the dreaded MEXICAN JAIL! Where is standing room only and no toilet, I saw it on CNN! (true)

a relative of mine crossed the border into Mexico and had a lot of dental work done for a fraction of the cost it would have cost him here in the good old USA
