Maybe I'm not seeing the whole picture but most of the people I know who are immigrants have large families and don't seem to be concerned about how many babies they bring into the world. Is this true? If so, is there a reason for it? Is this a big, medium, little or no problem at all for the USA ...or even the world? Gobal warming and all that? More people ....more warming?

The supreme court ruled that the US must educate ALL children within our borders (even though El Paso Still sends school buses to Juarez every day and robs us all of federal monies by colecting for children that live in another country, B.S!).
So why not let that bit of liberalism just bite them in the A$$?
Why not require ALL students to provide evidence of citizenship, residence. and have the principle call immigration on all of the families that cannot prove their legal status?
It sould like a ready made tactic that destroys the governments arguement of 'we cannot find them and don't know where to even start looking'

What do you think?

Why doesn't the USA circumvent illegal immigration from Mexico AND NAFTA as well as a host of other related issues by making a cash purchase? Buy Mexico.

Called the property tax collector the other day and there were two greeting messages. The first in English (20 seconds long) the second in Spanish (30 seconds long) The message then gave directions to push a number for Spanish, or Korean or ? ad nausea. I have no problem with pushing a button for another language other than English but to have to listen in Spanish before I get the choice to push a button for language seperation?
Outside of being somewhat offended by having to listen to Spanish for another 30 seconds, how can a government office use another language (other than English) for a greeting?
I wrote a letter of complaint to the Tax Collector and want to follow up but can't get deffinitive law on this issue. Someone suggests that English was recently made official language. Is this true? Anyone have ideas on this?

I am clueless as to why our nation (USA) has not made English our formal, official language. Why has this not been done. It seems like a no brainer. Does anyone know the history on this?
I'd love to be able to look into this as it seems to be a real foolish thing not to do! Why can't USA have English as an official language for commerce, law, signage, phone messages etc.?
I have no problem with folks using other languages in public or private. We are a free country afterall.

During the fiscal year ending in Sept 2005. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported 167,000 people. About 83,000 of those deportees have been convicted of crimes.
It seems about half if my math is right are nasty people here that were deported.
Make you wonder how many this year. Did you know that many were deported?

Specifically, I know of a kid born in 1986 in Germany, presumably on a US base, while his father was in the US Army. And I know that Germany has strict citizenship requirements so I've always wondered if the kid would be a dual citizen or have no status. Sorry if it's a dumb and redundant question!

What if they marry in her country and go live in Romania later? And if all this happens after Romania becomes part of the European Union, and they go live in another EU country instead of Romania, would she be able to become a Romanian/EU citizen anyway?

Did you guys see what Felipe Calderon said last night at the news? Felipe Calderon is one of the guys that is trying to be elected as the new Mexican President, well that's not the point, but last night he was saying that if he wins the elections him self and Venezuelan president have already plans to start a Latin American union and obviously the US is not part of it, and the bad thing is that they are going to start trying to cut every business relation with the US. We are talking about to send back factories and all that kind of things that we have down there, and the second thing that got my atteantion is that the Venezuelan president is saying that he's not going to sell more oil to the US.
I know that some of you guys think that we are the best nation and blah blah blah....but don't you think that is kind of scary if all the countries around South America get together to start and economic unit?? and letting the US out..

I figured i would post this since 4th of july is tomorrow. I think an American is someone who is proud of their country and happy where they come from, someone who would do anything for their country.

I am Mexican-American that was born and raised in the US. I am very happy to be a part of the US and no my parents/grandparents/ or greatgrandparend did not jump/swim/sneak over here. (i hate to hear that cause its ignorant) But ive posted questions before and there is a lot of racist people. I just want to know what people think an American is.
