Did you guys see what Felipe Calderon said last night at the news? Felipe Calderon is one of the guys that is trying to be elected as the new Mexican President, well that's not the point, but last night he was saying that if he wins the elections him self and Venezuelan president have already plans to start a Latin American union and obviously the US is not part of it, and the bad thing is that they are going to start trying to cut every business relation with the US. We are talking about to send back factories and all that kind of things that we have down there, and the second thing that got my atteantion is that the Venezuelan president is saying that he's not going to sell more oil to the US.
I know that some of you guys think that we are the best nation and blah blah blah....but don't you think that is kind of scary if all the countries around South America get together to start and economic unit?? and letting the US out..

I don't think that will ever happen.

All the candidates claimed to have won the elections, btw.

USA depends on Mexico more than the pinheads here realize. They are one of the largest crude oil suppliers to this country. If you want to cut off Mexico, then you better start riding your bikes to work or pay much higher gas prices.

I believe that is one of the reason's little is done about the illegal problem here.

Back to Calderon, he will say all sorts of bull to win votes. The truth is he would be stupid to ever cut off USA as a trading partner, it would put Mexico under and he knows that. USA needs Mexico as much as Mexico needs USA. Plus who will supply our drugs if USA is cutoff from the rest of America?

Since I don't support our U.S businesses going to other countries for more profit, I would say I'd agree with that. But, they'll just move to China, Vietnam, or some other country. We also need to think about less oil, as it is a limited resource that gets our country in alot of fighting we really shouldn't be in. We have enough money to seriously investigate a smarter, more enviromentally friendly resource. As for South America and Mexico, I would not presume membership in this Union in any except Mexico and Venezuela, as I do not know the minds of the people in the other countries, or their economies. If were a Venezulan, for example, I would think not selling oil to the U.S could potentially be very stupid for their economy, as no other country is as much a slave to oil as the U.S. We would pay any price, but we'd b**ch all the way to the pumps. In addition, unless they can kick the corruption in their government(Mexico) they are doomed to failing their people. All aside, they should look after their own people, and they should understand when we look after ours.

That is so funny. I expected that of Obrador but not Calderon. I guess he doesn't care that we make up 90% of their foreign market.

Oh well, have to increase purchases from Canada, I guess....

I think you are lying, by the way, because that party thinks NAFTA has made Mexico a ton, on balance.

In fact: "A Calderon victory would ensure Mexico sticks to the free-market policies of outgoing President Vicente Fox and hold steady as a U.S. ally, bucking a trend of Latin American nations who have turned to the left and away from Washington in recent years."

Personally,i think it would be a good thing!!! Then we can ship all their ILLEGALS back to mexico, and let THEM pay out BILLIONS each year for them!!!!! That RETARD from Venezuela is backing this guy to win! He said he's going to DESTROY the U.S. economy, and i believe that THIS is part of his plan.BOYCOTT Citgo gas!!! This is the IDIOTS oil company!!!

The U.S. should NOT be dependent on foreign oil!!! There have been people on the news in the past that have invented different things to fuel our cars, but then the big OIL companys bought their patent,to keep US from getting the benefits of it!!!
The oil companys WANT us to have to use more gas, because that makes them richer!!
I remember one guy had invented a carburetor, that would work on any car,and would get 90 miles to a gallon!!! Of course, the oil company bought him out!
There is a plant in Hawaii, that has been operating on SUGAR as their fuel source for over FIFTY years!!! Why can't we use something likr that??

Is this another of Lou Dobb's lies? Why would Calderon say that if his political party PAN is a conservative party. The U.S. government wants Calderon to win because he promised them to privatize the oil company Pemex so an American company could buy it.

If that would ever materialize, it'll be a union of two .. Venezuela and Mexico, and if Mexico is that stupid, they are the ones who will lose out ... but maybe, just maybe, all the illegal Mexicans who are here could leave and go to Venezuela instead ... oh happy days ....

we deserve it, we've been manipulating them for 200 years now. theyre sick of it. if they start shlt, we can go to war with them & make them all states in the union. they will soon have the ability to be a super power. by 2030 china, russia & the latin union may be too powerful to deal with. we have the resources to fight now but may be running thin by then. in the future we may shift from an idustrial giant to more of a service or itellectual role.

No, in fact, maybe it's a good thing. Then we will become less dependent on others and more self-efficient. And we can get tougher with Mexico and what they're doing to the U.S. and the immigrants because they don't want to be our friend anymore.

Well it'd sure cut down on a lot of problems for the US, I think, and you sure wouldn't have any trouble finding a job! LOL

Don't you kind of think they've always been sort of together, that way, anyway? C'mon now...they're neighbors and all...they've been playing us all this time, this just makes it official...
