One who is a legal citizen of the United States of America, and gives the USA their allegience. An American will fight to keep his homeland free of those who would try to destroy what Americans through hundreds of years have fought and strived for. Americans stand up for what is right for the country as a whole. We are a strong proud people of all races, colors, origins and we are not called the "United" States of America for nothing. The first thing that comes to mind is a citizen of the U.S. because that's what we call ourselves, but also everyone else in North and South America. Like when you think of "Asian," you could be thinking about people from China, Japan, etc. (people with "Asian features"), but India and much of Russia are in Asia also.
