There was a day, no American would doubt dems would cease being patriotic because they didn't have political power. No one would doubt that a democratic President would not lead the way to defend the USA if we were attacked, prior to 1980 or so.

If Gore had stolen the election in 2000 (God knows he tried hard) would anyone believe that Gore would have ordered the military to go after the Taliban in Afghanistan? No, Gore would have talked BIG but at the end of the day he would have deferred to the United Nations.

Most republicans feel socialists and communists have hi-jacked the democratic party. I can only think of a handfull of democrats that could be relied upon to defend the USA if they were in charge. Joe Lieberman is one of those few.

You can say Bush erred going into Iraq or republicans have allowed the religous right to get way too entrenched in their party & I would agree but the cancer of socialism is infested in the democratic party & dems are embracing it.

This isn't about the conspiracy theories. Its about the problems with nationalism.
I don't care about conspiracy theories.
What is important is showing the fact that people let their political beliefs and what they WANT to believe affect their judgment and opinions.

You can read the transcript or see Michelle Malkin's comments. I don't think its smart to attack the most popular and respected talk show host in the country. Rush normally doesn't go after republicans in the primary, so this is very strange.

I'm not from America and this is kind of strange... We have Libertarians, Socialists, Christian Democrats, "The Green" and some fascist nationalistic parties. Candidates like Schwartzenegger, Giuliani and Ron Paul aren't really typical Conservatives... So why is it still just the Democrats and the Republicans in the US? Is it forbidden by law to found a third party?

What "achievable" steps can we as puertorricans take in order to improve our economy, and overall social wellbeing?
Our current governor tried to pay our international debt, yet due to partisan motives within our Senate and House of Reps., he failed to get such proposal passed. For such a small island, we've always had a horribly bloated and inefficient government, and every "positive" development have come by becoming even more indebted to other nations and banks. As a society, we are extremely collectivist in our views of each other, and therefore, consistently incite one another to maintain an "us vs. them" attitude. I don't agree with becoming annexed to the US, I disagree with the central economic planning of socialism that the PIP promotes, and I think our current political structure, as established in the "E.L.A." Constitution, is outdated, limiting, and counterproductive in nature. How do you think we should proceed in order to fix our country's mess?

I'm graduating in May with my undergrad in political science and am curious to how competitive it is to get into the school.

I understand factors such as GPA and fields of interest are important, but is there any other information or insight anyone could provide. I plan on meeting with a recruiter soon by the way. Thank you in advance for your answers!

Many people seem to think that Ron Paul has a chance. I'd just like to let you all know that he is not going to win, due to lack of support in his party. But if you seem to think he can still pull it out what are your reasons? Is there some unknown poll out there? And do not say the media is conspiring against Paul because his ideas are too revolutionary, this is untrue

Now Mitt Romney, the Republican presidential candidate, has added another entry to the lexicon of political euphemisms for the blatant fib.

When he said that as a boy he “saw” his father march with the civil rights leader Martin Luther King — a claim debunked yesterday — Mr Romney now says that he used the word “saw” as a figure of speech. Mr Romney said: “If you look at the literature, if you look at the dictionary, the term ‘saw’ includes ‘being aware of’ in the sense I’ve described. I did not see it with my own eyes, but I saw him in the sense of being aware of his participation in that great [civil rights] effort.”

Mr Romney, who seems to be having several “figure of speech” moments on the campaign trail, said in a key speech this month that he had watched his father George Romney, the late Michigan Governor, march with Martin Luther King.

I say if they want amnesty that is fine. But, their is no path to citizenship for anyone who takes it. We can't ship them all back, but we can deny citizenship.

Wake up people, they want to overwhelm us with their numbers. I read that at their current rate of influx, whites will be the minority in this country in 20 years.

No citizenship, means no vote for them.

We also need a constitutional amendment stating that any baby born in this country, to an illegal, is not a citizen.
