A lot of people seem to favor Reagan. My one major gripe against him was his firing of the air traffic controllers who were striking - thus allowing a bunch of rookies to take up the slack.

Ronnie! There was no two ways about it with the air traffic controllers.
He made an an announcement, if you weren't at your duty assignment at the beginning of your next scheduled shift, you were terminated. The controllers tried to play chicken with him, and they lost.
This sent a loud and clear message to management around the country.
If Reagan wasn't about to back down from the air traffic controllers, why should GM back down from the UAW!
And to add insult to injury,Washington National Airport has been remaned Ronald Reagan National airport.
Go, Ronnie!!!!!!!!!!!!

In order:
1. Kennedy - faced off against Khrushchev and won
2. Reagan - made us proud to be Americans again
3. Clinton - you may hate his (lack of) ethics, but don't rule out his successes
4. Ford - could have been much higher on the list under different circumstances
5. Nixon - do people have any idea how much he accomplished in his first term?
6. Bush 41 - forgot what country elected him
7. Bush 43 - a competent president would have ended the war in Iraq by now
8. Carter - arguably our worst president ever

Jacques René Chirac.

His a man whom stood up for what he believed in even when he was highly criticized at the time for it and the target of various American and British commentators supporting the decisions of Bush and Tony Blair.

"Iraq today does not represent an immediate threat that justifies an immediate war," Chirac said on March 18, 2003.

- We now know he was right.

Gooooooooooooooo Chirac!!!
