How has NYC been an example of a Democratic system, and how well has that been presented over the course of the last few elections?

I was walking with my 1 year old baby in the stroller by a middle school today and some kid(s) threw 2 rocks at us! One of them came within 6 inches of my baby's head. I called the police because the gym teachers didn't want to do anything. The police have the group of kids who did it, and I want to press charges. My husband is also very upset about this!
These kids could have put out my baby's eye or if it had hit her in the temple, possibly have killed her. I told the policeman that we wanted to press charges and he said that he had the group of kids, but because I didn't see who threw the rocks, there was only so much that he could do.

What steps should I take to press this? I do not want to let it go, they intended to harm me or my child. Their aim was very accurate! If I had been walking just a hair faster they would have hit my sweet baby girl!! Please help me if you can? Thank you so much for your time!

They think that I'm the one who did it and they let the other guy go.
I didn't know female cops could wear thongs in uniforms.

One question that has been bothering me...

2007-12-13 16:08:50 · 12 answers · asked by cocobeet1 1 in Law Enforcement & Police

Little backstory, me and my siblings dont have the same mom so I dont talk to them much, and I dont talk to their side of the family AT ALL.

Also the will was unsigned, and the estate is "unsupervised"....im not sure if thats bad or not aswell.

Ok, well my father passed away march of 2006, while he was in the hospital on his death bed, a lawyer came and i had to sign a paper to make my aunt executor i believe....i was not in a mindstate to think anyone would be screwing me over so i signed.

My father left a buisness, which was sold for 133,000 last summer , and he also left houses which arent sold yet. they were appraised though.

well it will be 2 years in march and i still havent recieved my full share.

In may of 2007 my aunt had me and my 2 siblings go to her house and she gave us each 7,000 dollars of the money...she said she couldnt give it all yet because she has to wait and see if anyone comes forward that my dad owes. she said in a few months if they dont come forward she would distribute the rest and put me and my siblings in charge of selling the houses on our own.

Well I wait and wait and still nothing, its been 6 months since that happened and everytime i talk to my brother he tells me the moneys coming and were waiting to go into probate, that my aunt is just busy and shes taking longer than she should because she works for the mayor and is always busy.

He seems sincere and in need of money as much as I am and seems like hes being serious about it but i dont I dont trust him or anyone on that side of the family, so im kinda scared I may be getting screwed and I dont know what to do.

Just recently he called to tell me that he asked our aunt to give us a little more cash, well supposedly im supposed to be recieveing a 500 dollar check soon...and in the mail tommorow im supposed to recieve an inventory list of the estate.

I have a question though.....How can she distribute money little by little but has to wait for probate to give it all out?

Are they messing with me?

Also ive tried to contact he lawyer that handles the estate a few months back and he told me not to call him, but to call my aunt and talk to her because he costs 100 dollars an hour and that these things take time.....even though my dads estate money is paying for him, im not allowed to talk to him? I dont get it.

Please give me your opinion on the situation. and any ideas of what I should do?

Thank you alot.

I'm going to the army in a few months and I'm enlisted for 2 years as field artillery. Then I want to re-enlist as infantry with Ranger school. I want to be a recruiter for a few years after I serve for a while in combat..does anyone know how to become a recruiter? I heard the army picks you. I think I could do a way better job than my recruiters and not screw enlisted people over.

I have a room mate that I seriously need to get rid of. He pays the rent on time and that's a plus but he's always in the bathroom, doesn't even leave the house (unless it's to go to the gym), and then he expects me to share the chores with him. Now I understand that I should do my part seeing as I share the household but the way he puts it makes it seem like I should be cleaning up after him. I work close to 12 hours a day so I don't really have time to do an entire run through the house and clean every single edge and corner of it every weekend. But I do make sure to clean u[ after myself. All I ask is that he do the same. But because of his lack of understanding that I work and he doesn't I wanna find the legal way to evict him. I should mention that he picked a fight with my boyfriend and me almost resulting in an all out brawl. So tell me, 2 weeks or 30 days notice to evict?

When I see a Bi-lingual signs at stores...what should we make of it?

Corporate America LOVES it! Because when Jose/Maria cannot speak english, then their options are severly limited, they get dead-end jobs paying slave labor, and no benefits...but wait, it gets better!

Wal-Mart pays it's employees so low in CA, they include Public Assitance papers(welfare, food stamps) because the Corporation refuses to pay a decent wage, and sends the profits to some offshore account, such as the 20,000,000,000 (20 billion) dollars the Waltons of Wal-Mart have done.

So did they give the savings to you? Of course not! Made in China disposable, junk products are our savings.

But I digress. Let's keep em' down, while keeping the Bi-lingual signs UP!

i was done when Alomar spit in the face of an umpire, was fined and told to sit out several games.........but because his team was in the playoffs the penalties were put off until the following season.

i hope baseball collapses.

it speaks volumes that we are currently dealing with a credit crunch in the housing market due to the fact that loans were made knowing the borrowers couldnt pay their bills. we as a society are eager to ignore obvious pitfalls as long as some short term money can be made......THAT is the American dream

They say people of ages 18 and up are the only eligible people to watch pornography and that it is illegal for minors to watch. What is the exact age of minors? So if you're in your middle school or high school years, are you considered a minor?

So far the media isn't saying bad things about her administrative skills - no need her staff keeps resigning.

If she can't hire ethical people to get her elected - what do you think she will do if she were elected??

I am so tired of my fiance's 14 kid threatening to kill me. The kid threatens to kill me when he has a temper tantrum and becomes defiant. First he acts abnormal and immature, then he cusses me and/or his dad, then he refuses to mind, and if any type of discipline is suggested by me(take away his computer or guitar), he threatens to kill me. He sometimes gets graphic with his threats. He has said he would get a kinife and cut off my head.

The kid has threatened to kill me at least 10 times in the last four months.

Is the kid breaking the law? if so, what can be done about his threats? I want to call the police.

I used to know the website that you could type your address into and it would pull up a map of your location and pin-point all of the sex offenders, show their picture, and list what their offense was. Does anyone know this site? All the ones I can find through Google either require me to pay or sign-up.

I'm designing a website, and I want to use the iPod's user interface as the base/template of the site. But is the interface itself protected under copyright? Can I use it without getting sued?
By the interface, I mean like the white background, the same font, the blue highlight as you highlight a link and etc. Basically a website that's organized like the content on iPod is.
The site will strictly be a personal website, with no intention of commercial purposes.
