I used to know the website that you could type your address into and it would pull up a map of your location and pin-point all of the sex offenders, show their picture, and list what their offense was. Does anyone know this site? All the ones I can find through Google either require me to pay or sign-up.

Most of them are run by the state and typically do not charge. You don't mention which state, so I'm afraid I can't look it up and help you. Try your state's attorney general's web page. They may well have a link.
There is no national registry. There are probably companies that go search all the state ones and provide you a "national registry" for a fee, etc.

I don't know what you searched for, but try google'ing for "{name of state} sex offender registry"

in Texas it is run by the state. so try yourstate.gov then search the website for sex offender registry

just type in your state name and then sex offenders list. like here in fl its fdle sex offenders and it pops right up
