I'm going to the army in a few months and I'm enlisted for 2 years as field artillery. Then I want to re-enlist as infantry with Ranger school. I want to be a recruiter for a few years after I serve for a while in combat..does anyone know how to become a recruiter? I heard the army picks you. I think I could do a way better job than my recruiters and not screw enlisted people over.

Just to let peolpe know I am red/green colorblind so I signed for two years so I can re-enlist as infantry, because I can't go straight in till I have experience. That's what some red/green colorblind veterans and current active guys told me.

You are getting way ahead of yourself, trying to plan out your career that far in advance.

I am curious why only a 2 year enlistment if you want to stay in. You don't have to get out and reenlist to change jobs.

Why not just start out in infantry and work towards Ranger School. If you become a Ranger, you may not get the chance to be a recruiter, as the needs of the Army may deem that you need to stay on Duty as a Ranger. However, they might like to have a Ranger as a recruiter..good marketing.

You need to actually get in the Military and be in for awhile before you plan out your entire career. You don't know what it will be like and you don't know for sure you will want to stay in.

Trying to plan for the future is nice, but you have to actually know something about what you are planning to do....

Good luck,

Appreciate your service to our Country.

If your red/green color blind, I dont see how they will let you go infantry let alone ranger. Maybe you know something I dont but as far as I knew you cannot be red/green colorblind in combat MOS's. But you shouldnt be planning that far ahead, so much can change it. Have goals, but dont go in with a set in plan cause it will change rather you like it or not & that may discourage you thinking otherwise.

I'd study politics, veteran support, the weapons industry, and brainwashing before making a decision to join the army and especially before recruiting anyone.
