QUITO, Ecuador - Ecuador will open bidding for a major oil project in a jungle nature reserve in June if the poor Andean country does not receive international funding to abandon the proposal, the oil minister said Monday.

The government is seeking a minimum of $350 million a year from the international community for 10 years not to drill in the Ishpingo-Tiputini-Tambococha fields located in Yasuni National Park, in Ecuador's northeastern jungle. The money is to compensate Ecuador for income it would have generated by drilling for oil at the site.

The jungle area, which holds close to 1 billion barrels of crude, is part of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Some environmentalists say the reserve has more varieties of plant life than the United States and Canada combined.

The Supreme Court (with 2 new Bushies added to it) has decided that corporations, businesses and private interest groups can now run their own smear ads against a candidate as long as they don't specifically say not to vote for that candidate:

Our families weekly grocery budget is about $100-$150 for 5 people!

Should we pass a constitutional amendment to ban campaign contributions and political ads from lobbyist, corporations, interest groups, unions and industry ?

And make it where, only individual citizens are allowed to donate to political campaigns ?

Make it where, you can only donate, to politicians running in your State or for President.

Then also cap the donations to $1,000.

That way, the rich, cannot donate to political campaigns, in every state.

I just don't understand how people can say they don't live in a free country, and say how much they HATE it here, but won't even consider leaving. If you would mention leaving to them, they play it off and call you bigot, or close-minded. So what do they really looking for? Im thinking of going to the LA police Academy when i turn 21 im 19 now and have my GED and will be moveing to LA if i do go to the academy but my dad says maybe its not a good idea because its a very stressfull job and i will always be working and what not, so i was wondering are cops ALWAYS on call? and is it a good careeer? any information will help me out thanks.

I must admit I am taken back by about 80% of American media. The liberal media portrays America as a "feels good do it, come one come all" out of control orgy of no substance. Do you think these savage terrrorist states are going to abide by a damn thing a woman has to say or even consider any American requests. Men should be warriors, and women should be supporters, for without them we fight for nothing. I think she made a great first lady considering Bills unnability to commit to his vows. I was offered employment in writing and then after my medical i was phoned and told the offer was retracted without any reason, it could only have been something on my medical, i think it was because i am over weight, the job was for a dining room attendant ie waitress no one will tell me why? what are my rights...where do i go from here?

ever heard of a fake id that never got taken away? well mine is on that streak right now. i have been using it for about 6-7 months and it has worked everytime with casino managers, dealers, security guards, store owners, liquor stores, scans, etc.

i was born in canada but brought to the states when i was 6 years old. i stayed there for 15 years without ever getting my paperwork done. i was arrested for a drug-related offense in the U.S. 2 years ago and i was officially deported this year. i left the U.S. in november and i am back in canada now. I have a daughter who was born in the states and she is with me. all of her paternal family and most of my family is still in the U.S. including my mother and brother and sisters. i would like to know the legal process if any of being allowed to visit, not nessecarily move there. i would appreciate it if anyone with correct knowledge could help me out. thanks!

I want to know how can someone go about changing PO officer? My friend is on parole and his PO is giving him a real hard time. The PO has told my friend that he will do everything in his power to put him back in jail. My friend has been complying with all the rules but his PO keeps on giving him a hard time. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The UN held a conference in Bali indonesia. They believe the carbon emmissions don't affect the enviroment. The amount of planes the UN officals took to Bali gave more pollution than 20,000 cars.

On the other hand, Al Gore believes we are in a crisis. That carbon emmissions are effecting things.

Any thoughts?
