I was offered employment in writing and then after my medical i was phoned and told the offer was retracted without any reason, it could only have been something on my medical, i think it was because i am over weight, the job was for a dining room attendant ie waitress no one will tell me why? what are my rights...where do i go from here?

I would go to where you received the exam and ask for a copy of it. You'll have to sign a paper, but you should be able to get it technically it could be considered part of your medical record, just like a drug test.

You have the right to get employment records but the employer had the discretion to refuse because it is the hazard of applying for a job, documents are deemed not to be returned.
