I don't want to move to Cuba...
I don't want to live under a dictatorship, but at the same time, I don't want to be away from him.
This is a really stupid decision on his part.
He thinks Cuba would be a "great place to live."
What do I do?

Is it ironic that most people who support little to no gun control and support the death penalty are also the same people who think that we should not legalize drugs?

My fiance and I got married six months ago. We recently opened a case with ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) to adjust my status to a permanent resident.
I've entered the country legally, I have my own Social Security number issued to me by the Social Security Administration.
The process will take up to an year. In the mean time my temporary immigration paperwork has already expired.

I hold a valid Iowa driver's license. I checked on the Wisconsin Department Of Transportation web site - to obtain a WI driver's license you have to put down on the form that you are a)US citizen b)Permanent Resident or c)Temporary Visitor and prove it with the appropriate paperwork.

My question is - which option should I choose, and what should I tell the DMV clerk? Since I really don't fall into any of these categories. I'm no longer a temporary visitor and I'm not yet a permanent resident or citizen.

Or should I just keep driving with my valid out of state driver's license for now?

Thank you

We have a lot of things hitting us at one time.
We have contaminated our air and waterways, clear-cut our forests, and our inner cities are dying. The pollution of such natural resources often preceeds economic and societal collapses. The shrinking dollar, soaring gas prices, housing slump and stock market fall, though inconvenient, are not the biggest threats to the economy. These are symptoms caused by deeper systemic problems. We need to learn from these events and discover how to build more sustainable societies. Otherwise, these “hits” are likely to increase and spread.
Many major American institutions are in crisis, including healthcare, religion, transportation, political systems, energy, and education.
That which Heinberg and other Peak Oil theorists have been predicting for years seems to be entering its next stage. With the supply of petroleum and other fossil fuels diminishing and the demand for them increasing–especially from rapidly industrializing China and India–we are moving toward a radically worsened US economy. Canada is one of the many countries whose citizens are ahead of the US in prudent planning for pending crises caused by extreme climate, Peak Oil, and related matters. The Vancouver City Planning Commission has posted a report on a 2006 seminar on collapse at www.plancanada.com. Videos of such ongoing seminars to get ready are available at www.peakmoment.org.
Too many Americans selfishly believe that they have a God-given right to consume whatever their wealth can purchase, without regard to the consequences to other people and the Earth. They take, rather than give, even the natural resources of other peoples. As a farmer, I know that you reap what you sow and that chickens come home to roost.

Yesterday I just transfered into this new class and the teacher was neoMarxist and he kept going on and on about his political viewpoints and we were discussing things in class. It started with something like the course outline and then it ended up where the teacher kept discussing a system of equality that he wishes was enforced in America. And I was talking to him after class and I said I agreed with what he was talking about and he told me he was glad and that he would give an "A" in the class. I was really excited, not the A mind you, but the fact that he was telling his students about the best economic system, so we can all start a revolution soon. I mean, it would benifit everyone in the long run because it would eliminate the current social injustice now. Do you think that if he enforces this to all his students that a communist revolution would take place soon? Do you think that it was okay to do this?

I have a friend who was paroled after being in jail for over 10 years for attempted murder and carjacking with a gun. He was released three months ago and two weeks ago got off of house arrest ( he had two warrants for violating curfew but his parol officer stopped them). He went to visit a woman and got arrested for public intoxication. His bond is over $1000.00. He is pretty confident that he will get out of jail after court at the end of the month. He doesn't know that his mother contacted his PO so now he knows that he is in jail. His PO said that there was a warrant issued for him because he was supposed to be in his home town one week and half ago and wasn't so he violated his parole. His charge is a misdemeanor. He is confident that he will get out but I think that they will close that case then keep him because of his parole violation. What do you think will happen to him? He has like three more years to completely serve his sentence.

I ask because I have actually read the guidelines - and I have received a slew of "violation emails" of late that do not violate in any way what so ever the community guidelines.
It seems a very poor policy if questions or answers are deleted just because some air head didn't agree with it.
As a side note - don't bother questioning or even replying to these "violations" because you will not receive an explanation or even a reply.

I grew up in awe of the great freedom of the USA. Since the Vietnam war and other subsequent badly planned interventions into other Countries affairs by the military wing of a self serving political club of, basically criminal, politicians who seemed to always have personal financial investment in the Military Industrial Complex, I have become very cynical about the global motivations of the USA. Since, in relatively recent times, this gung ho approach to international relations has hitched it's wagon behind the engine of fundamentalist 'christianity', I have despaired of a once proud and true Nation of honest people and become very cynical towards what seems like a Nation of self righteous crusaders. I know that this doesn't represent the American people but your present Govt. does their damndest to give over this view.

Back home in San Diego(The Promised Land) there was a case of a Marine that was poisoned. His beautiful Wife collected $400k from insurance. After she collected the money she went out and partied, go breast implants and all sorts of stuff. She went to trial and was found guilty. I do believe that she killed him, but at the same time, maybe she had nothing to do with it, but was still happy that he died. There's lots of people in my life that I want dead, and would celebrate if they died.

It just keeps getting uglier and uglier. The self proclaimed hero of 911 set up an apartment near ground zero for the use of the volunteers, so that hey could get a little respite during their work. And just how was the apartment used? Why it was used by Giuliani’s business partner to stash his girl friend. So while the volunteers did their work in the toxic air of the rubble, the good mayors protégé was doing his work in a taxpayers gift apartment. It is truly the stuff of heroes.
Given Giuliani’s rather complex marital and extra marital relations one has to wonder who else had a key to that apartment.
