First off I'm glad to hear a young man already looking towards the future and helping preserve this county's ideals.
If you want straight no frills infantry Go to the Corps, they'll teach you how to survive, and you'll be deep in it without a doubt, so you'll need it. Every Marine on the field of battle is a machine ran on killing power, if that's what you want look no further. Every Marine, regardless of MOS and rank, is a Rifleman at their base. When sh!t hits the fan all Marines pick up rifles and have the ability to lead to victory.
I went in the Marines under the Buddy System and it totally paid off. We were in the same platoon but we really only talked 7 or 8 times all of Boot Camp. But we still are really good friends and I tell you there are times you question yourself in Recruit Training and just having a familiar face to look at is a huge plus. Neither one of us missed one day of training or one exercise in all Boot Camp (13 1/2 weeks at MCRD San Diego in 1995), not to say we weren't hurt but we made a bet prior to boot camp about who was the tougher of us and who would miss the most time, so neither one of us would report for sick bay. Another good friend of ours was supposed to go with us also but went early to get the MOS he wanted but he didn't make it through. The Buddy System definitely works.
I would like to say the SOI (school of infantry) immediately after Boot Camp is way more physically demanding than Boot Camp
The Army's great too, but I wouldn't know, we were always up front. That's not a swipe, it's the truth. No disrespect meant, They are good soldiers, Marines are just a different breed... By the way, I've seen a few of your past posts, all the services are paid on an equal pay grade. Hence a Private in the Marine Corps makes the same as a Private in the Army all the way E-1 through E-9.

I think any branch of service would be fine. Each one will give you an opportunity to do and see things you only read about or view at the movies.
Key points, however, no matter which branch of service you choose....
Finish school.
Good grades
Pay particular attention to math and science subjects. By the time you get in everything (almost is that way now) will be computer related.
Stay out of trouble. Don't get involved with the "bad folks". Police problems will really hurt your chances of getting in.
Remember, you will be drug tested. So, stay the heck away from them now and you won't have to worry about it when you enlist.
How do I know? See my source below. Good luck. YOU"LL LOVE THE MILITARY!

As an Army Inf. Vet, I would say the Marines, you would get allot tougher training, which could end up saving your life and certainly make you a more effective fighter, not sure about the current buddy deal.

I would really hope you would consider the Armed Forces for training. I mean a skill you can use your whole life. As far as which service, it's a matter of personal choice. I and many others in this section will not bad mouth any other branch of service.
