I have seldom agreed with you, but you have always been civil. I respect your right to opinions I may disagree with - but I never reported you either. There has never been a reason to.
BTW, I have had apologies from YA as well as points restored - when I protested a couple of times. If I deserved it, I just took my lumps.
Watch out for shark/trolls. The woods are full of em.
I always answer the question in a defensible way. Still if you are not offending someone, you are not doing your job as an American citizen.
BUT YOU CAN LODGE PROTESTS.
Just be sure you are on solid ground.

I agree with you. I have gotten violations and did reply back and all I got was the same thing by going over the guidelines over again, but still didn't see where I went wrong with the answers I gave. I thought my answers were good, but maybe my answers did offend a Yahoo Answer worker or (bot). What I don't get is why some of the vulgar questions are shown on YA? Do you think YA deletes the ones they don't want to hear?

I've had a few violations, but it's pretty hard to avoid it in the political forum. I complained once, and they answered me but didn't reverse the violation. Sometimes, I'm pretty sure it's just some extremely avid political zealot who hates my political choices. If they ever cancel my profile, I won't be back. Lots of people just open a new account...not me!

I never get violation e-mails. But from reading your Qs and As, I don't think they should be reported. I guess they're deleted (it says so somewhere in the TOS or guidelines, I think).

Yes, it is automatically deleted. You'd think a multi billion dollar corporation could afford a moderator or three to actually review violation reports.

It depends on who and how many report you. A report from someone at level 7 will get you yanked pretty quick. One from someone at level 1 will get you reviewed and maybe pulled. And my experience is different from yours. I have been reported twice for unknown reasons. I contested them both, and they were both reversed. Your question makes me wonder if you are following the guidelines as carefully as you think. Insulting other members is a violation, even an insult as mild as "airhead." Be nice and you should be ok.

I think so. I've had questions and answers deleted that didn't seem to violate the standards.
I guess the only way to tell is to have a friend violate a reasonable answer and see what happens.

I have gotten a few too LeAnne.
A few I received were just for saying "no" or "yes", so go figure.
