I have a friend who was paroled after being in jail for over 10 years for attempted murder and carjacking with a gun. He was released three months ago and two weeks ago got off of house arrest ( he had two warrants for violating curfew but his parol officer stopped them). He went to visit a woman and got arrested for public intoxication. His bond is over $1000.00. He is pretty confident that he will get out of jail after court at the end of the month. He doesn't know that his mother contacted his PO so now he knows that he is in jail. His PO said that there was a warrant issued for him because he was supposed to be in his home town one week and half ago and wasn't so he violated his parole. His charge is a misdemeanor. He is confident that he will get out but I think that they will close that case then keep him because of his parole violation. What do you think will happen to him? He has like three more years to completely serve his sentence.

It depends on his PO, but if he got caught out of the city he was supposed to be in and was out after curfew AND got arrested, I would bet that he is going back to prison to serve the rest of his 3 years. Sorry.

What will happen depends very heavily on the PO and how your friend handles the situation. If he is apologetic he may get off light. If he makes excuses and blames others he may get all three years.

If his PO violated him, he is going back to prison.
