It's early 2009. I am dressed in an orange jump suit standing in a long line at some re education camp. I am staring at my government issued healthcare card that tells me they can get me in for a pap smear in 14 months. It's 'free' they tell me! 'It Takes a Village' is being read over the PA system and giant pictures of Fräulein Clinton block out what remains of the day....I am cold, very cold........fade to black.......

Up until the middle of the 18th century there was a general scientific consensus that there was a substance called phlogiston that was the active ingredient in combustion. Once the ingredient was burned it became it's true elemental substance "calx." Of course, the substance phlogiston never actually existed.

Throughout history, there have been countless theories that were adopted by the majority of the scientific community that were later proved definitively false. Why do some currently feel that just because there are claims that there is a scientific consensus about a theory (Global Warming), that that theory is unquestionably true?

What if America held her traiters to account, ended corporate control, recalled her troops, and seized the $4 trillion dollar profit rewarded the COMMUNIST leadership in China for exploiting the Walton famlies greed and Clinton's contempt for America with Bush's lust for war and their own people's sufferings and labors, as the rightful inhertance of a generation of Americans looted by the Walton/Clintons for 2 decades. Big sentence I know and a bigger idea. Reindustrialized and outlawed, retroactively, business with Communists again. Dissolve the Fed and secure the dollar with value thereby adding wealth, raising incomes and opportunity and enhancing national security and esteem. Trade based soley on sound economics and to promote liberty within the world. Can America become a community again? Will we ever stop blaming our neighbor for requiring a living wage to feed his family? Will we ever hold those to account who deliberately drove us into the crisis' of today for their own profit?

Canadian volunteer firefighters, trying to assist American firefighters in extinguishing a blaze, are delayed at the border. Because we don't trust them? We don't want them to put their lives on the line for us? I think this is beyond insane, but for once, I am at a loss for words. I am sure that the Answers community can help me with this dictionary block.

I have no real care one way or another here but we all know free medicine is not free....it comes from the tax payers one way or another be it from government aid or raising costs because hospitals have to provide free services to those without insurance.

So are you For or Against this? Why? How do you think the US medical structure should look?

While it is true that we have to wait to see if the reduction in violence is sustained after we start withdrawing troops, does the fact that many liberals deny ANY improvements have been made lead to a loss of their credibility?

"The refusal of the antiwar movement--or some sections of it--to recognize these developments isn't helping its credibility."

I cannot wait to see how many non-answers I get (ie Bush lost credibility….no WMDs….etc)

Will all of the deaths in the Iraq War be worth it if in the future Iraq is free and safe? If all of those people have have the chance to be free and safe like we as Americans are, will the war have been worth it? How much is your freedom worth to you? What would you be willing to do to insure your children and grandchildren grow up free?

Romney says that his plan to spend a minimum of 4 percent of the nation's gross domestic product, not including war funding, on the military would help reverse a "dangerous decline under the Clinton administration."

The TRUTH: The slowdown in military spending started during the Reagan administration. As a share of GDP, modern-era defense spending peaked at 6.2 percent in 1986, slowed to 5.6 percent in fiscal 1989, the last Reagan budget year, and drifted steadily down to bottom out at 3 percent in fiscal 2001.
And that is approximately where it is today.

Can Romney supporters explain this 'dangerous decline'?

I posted this article the other day to prove what government and unions do to the taxpayers of NY State, and ONE person responded. Read the article at least an educate yourself before throwing out all the union rhetoric. This is how government agencies run. How can anyone defend this crap? Liberals at work giving away the store to their friends. So much for helping the poor by driving away jobs (no pun intended).

I see people occasionally say "tax the churches." But they never post any reasoning. I'm willing to listen. But, I have yet to see any of these people explain themselves. Are they simply hysterical?

Follow my thoughts:

Can you tell us exactly how you envision this working?

Is it as if:
- Jane gives money to her church
- the church immediately has to pay taxes on Jane's gift/donation?

Is that how you see it working?

I see this question posted but with no info/detail as to WHY or HOW or any REASONING. Can you help us see some rationality?

By the way, Jane's donation is used to put up a building, to pay for heat, and to pay a pastor (who DOES pay income taxes). And, some money might be used to help the poor.

Are you saying that a group of people should have no right to put up a building and pay for heat and electricity unless they pay extra taxes for pooling their money?

A friend has a job where he is required to lift through out the day. His back is constantly bothering him and it's getting to his busy season. He says there is no time to put a back brace on and the ones they have don't fit him properly. I always thought that employers were required to provide both equipment and opportunity for general safety procedure. I searched within the Department of Labor's website and couldn't find anything. But aren't they even required to post that this is the law?

There is no expert or subject matter review that anything on Wikipedia is accurate. So WHY does anyone believe Wikipedia and why does YAHOO and GOOGLE promote their site with a high ranking in searches?

The crooks who run the city of Chicago have passed the largest tax increase ever in chief thief Mayor Daley's 18 years. Can anyone quantify how much the 1 million or so illegals here in Illinois cost us taxpayers? Isn't it time we threw the dishonest politicians out of office? Chicago is a sanctuary city and the only reason for this is so that the politicians can continue to be re-elected.

I was involved in an auto accident, where I was completely stopped and the driver ran in to me. I have a Tacoma truck and the driver that hit me had a 2006 mustang. The driver had no damage to their front bumper, but I have a huge dent in my bumper. I tried explaining that to All-State that I was moving and based on physics my car is going to absorb all the damage and the strongest part of her bumper hit the weakest part of mine. Plus she was cited for careless driving and running in to the back of me, plus the officer who took down the information wrote how much damage she caused o n the police report. So 2 weeks have gone by and they took measurements and said my bumper was way higher than hers and no damaged could have been caused by her car, even though I looked at another mustang like hers in the parking lot and it is the same exact height as mine. I think All-State is a bunch of crooks and bs'ing me. Is my only choice to get my auto insurance to sue their auto insurance?
