As a "Bush" supporter I think I can answer this question from a different aspect then those who are opposed to him.
While he has lied to the American name one Recent American who hasn't? Reagan had the Iran Contra, Carter's lies led to the Iran Hostage situation, Bush Sr. had the no new taxes thing, and Clinton had many lies including Whitewater, Lewinski, and so on. All of which led to some form of misery for millions of people whether it be through higher taxes, deaths, or a lost sense of trust in government.
Now why I support the president isn't because he is awesome or that he does everything right he has flaws we all do, I support him because I reallize his job is probably one of if not the hardest in the entire world. In the first 8 months of his presidency he faced a problem that only one other American had ever faced before in the surprise attack of 9/11 (I know some of you think he knew about it before hand or he planned it, the same has been said about FDR) and he has faced a war with an enemy unlke any we had ever faced. All the while he still managed to over see growth in the economy, natural disasters (he cannot take all the Blame for Katrina, you have to take Nagen and Blanco into account) and many other areas of growth in the nation as well as areas that have not gone so well. So you can say his supporters are iggnorant, lack common sense, or humanity or what ever but you have to reallize for better or worse like it or not he is our president and he has held his ground on many unpopular issues.... The way I look at it he is the type of leader I have always wanted even though I may not agree with what he does

I have been reading the answers and this is so sad. People really don't have a clue. Can they be that unaware of what is happening around them and the gravity of the situations we have been put in?
Are people really that clueless not to understand the difference between normal lies that politicians tell and the ones that can thrust countries into world war?
There is a big difference in lying about who stole the cookie out of the jar and who killed some one.
Are they really that clueless about what is going on in the world and don't do any research to find out.
Even the Right wing Christians have abandoned Bush for his lies, deceit and what he had lowered this country to.
Some one please help these people. They obviously don't have a clue or they do lack all of the above... common sense humanity and down right decency.

I think you forgot their favorite phrase, Macman...."family values." What are they teaching their children, that it is okay to lie if you want to attain a certain goal? They are full of excuses..."all Presidents lie," "you can't prove he lied."....and some of them still believe Saddam was in cahoots with Al Queda, despite all evidence to the contrary.
They like to bring up their favorite "Slick Willie" remark, blaming the Bush fiasco in Iraq on Bill Clinton, which is a stretch, but provides them with an excuse to slam Clinton.
If they really believed in "Family Values," they would be horrified at a man who would distort information to kill thousands and thousands of people, including our young Americans. Then, too, some of them consider the whole affair a "Crusade," marching through the Middle East to bring about the Rapture. Instead of considering life a gift from God, well worth preserving, they spend their days looking forward to death. I don't know how they rationalize "Thou Shalt Not Kill" with the Doomsday march of death. All I know is that it is not right, it is downright sacreligious, and they should be ashamed of themselves!

Bush lied by saying that Irag had WMD or were in the process of making them but in fact there were none. The reason America attacked Iraq was for the oil at the expense of thousands of american lives and countless thousands of Iraqi lives, not to mention billions of dollars of tax payers money just so that some oil companies and ammo factories can make a fortune.

What lies? No one ever said that Saddam and Al Queda were connected other than the fact they were both terrorists.
Sounds like you on the left are the ones with bad intel. It's been over 4 years now, the discussion on whether to go into Iraq is moot. Get a life.

Cheney repeatedly stated Iraq helped AL-Quiada with 9-11.
Cheney also said that Saddam was "undoubtably" reconstituting hes nuclear weapons programs
both out and out lies
both the CIA and State Dept reports said these were untrue before we invaded.

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
-- Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002
"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction."
-- Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002
"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real..."
-- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003
