No one here will be able to give you a correct answer including myself. Contact the court, and see what your options are, if any.

First, see if you can request a trial by written declaration. If you can, and the verdict comes back guilty, you can usually request a second hearing in person. Do some research for this though, as it varies from state to state.

Show up for court. If the officer is a no-show, they usually toss the ticket. If he does show, be nice and state your case to the judge or commissioner. Oftentimes they may reduce the fine.

It depends on if your city/town has plea bargaining or not. If they do then you are often able to get a reduced fine and possibly take a defensive driver course without being charge with a speeding ticket (this will help keep your insurance down). If there is no plea bargaining you will just be wasting your time, I have seen it happen many times. Your either guilty or not in those cases and more than likely you were and they can prove it very easily...

Changes are the fine wont be different, maybe more. I could be held accountable for court costs. My husband had a ticket that was 75.00 and 2 points. He went to court to get the points dropped. The fine was then 150.00.

Yeah, lawyer fees, on top of court costs, on top of the fine, on top of missing a days work pay to do all that. I'd just pay the 75 dollars, take traffic school, and be done with it.

Check to see if you can take a driving course that way your guilty but do not have to pay for the ticket. Even though the course is sometimes equivalent and it does not go on your traffic record.

Where I live you aren't going to be fined more. "Court costs" are included in the original fine. So I always say go to court unless you have a bad record cause then they can take your license.

Pay the fine or request a hearing.

Go to trial...always go. Many times the DA will plea you out if its your first offense. You'll get a parking ticket, but the fine will be higher and you'll have to go to traffice school. Or something like that.
