Liberals...ready to respond to a question I asked recently?

I posted this article the other day to prove what government and unions do to the taxpayers of NY State, and ONE person responded. Read the article at least an educate yourself before throwing out all the union rhetoric. This is how government agencies run. How can anyone defend this crap? Liberals at work giving away the store to their friends. So much for helping the poor by driving away jobs (no pun intended).

Do you think Conservatives would allow this? NY State is run by the UNIONS! Every single governor (including Pataki) was pro union and Liberal. YES, it's the unions, and YES, liberals who promote more government.

The fact that Liberals refuse to respond is proof enough. They ignore the fact that government is corrupt, yet they want the government to provide everything.

Here's the funny part. This is exactly the sort of thing Conservatives are supposed to LIKE. Doesn't it make sense to keep the tolls? We're going to have to keep updating the roads to keep them clean and safe, which means we get the money either through tolls (only people who use the roads pay for them) or we pay for it through taxes (everyone pays for them). I guess as long as you can criticize liberals, it doesn't particularly matter to you what the actual facts are.

I am not a liberal but I would like to respond to your question. Many years ago when I was young and naive I worked at a job that required me to join a union. When our contract came up for negotiation the company offered us a very excellent package. The union leaders urged us to strike for an additional 6 cents an hour. I stood in the union hall and and told my fellow workers that if we struck for only 30 days and got the full 6 cents extra that we would have to work almost 8 years to make up for our lost pay during the strike at 6 cents an hour more. The union president and the other 5 elected union officials present came off the stage and beat the living dog snots out of me. They returned to the stage, called for a strike vote and it was passed unanimously. Then they threw my broken and bleeding body into the alley. I spent 3 weeks in the hospital. The strike lasted 84 days but they got the full 6 cents extra. I was fired and thrown out of the union. I started my on company and have been a small business man every since. My company is non union and my employees receive higher wages and more benefits than any union in the state offers.
Years later the union president was indicted and tried for embezzelment. Seems his house and Mercedes and gambling addiction were all paid for with union funds. There was a clear paper trail showing he had taken millions of dollars in union money and spent it on personal items but the judge threw out the case because these public records had been obtained without a search warrant. The prosecutor explain to the judge that the law didn't require a warrant for public records, but the judge didn't seem to care about the law when it came to his golfing buddy the union president. The case was dismissed and the union president went back to his position.
Gotta love them unions!!!!
