I agreed to rent a room from a woman on saturday. I paid her the depost on monday, after i was out of work. 36 hours after i gave her my deposit, my car breaks down and, ironically, is costing me the exact same amount at my move in expenses (400 for depost, 450 for first months rent.) She is saying she held the room for me for 4 days since she told me last friday that i could have the room. I told her at the time that I had other places to check out, so I wouldn't have my decision until sunday. I ended up accepting her offer on saturday. I paid her the depost on monday. I've only been under the landladyship for 36 hours and signed the lease 36 hours ago. She wants to hold $60 for the 4 days that she held the room for me. Is this legal?

In other words, you can't go up against one philisophically without one of them using fear tactics like "Well, then you can expect to have your house invaded!" or straw man arguments like "You support gun control? So you DON'T believe people have right?" or illogical absolutes like "It's our right to own them..." Is it trigger hapiness?

If you can supply a good, fallacy free argument in support of the Second Amendment, I'll retract my statement.

I've noticed that many conservatives are against the concept of political correctness...which I have to agree, can be overblown at times. Free speech should be free speech right?
However, why is it that when a PAC like Moveon.org publishes an ad attacking Petreus, suddenly it's not PC to question a uniformed officer. Well? Either you support free speech or you don't. What is it?

In state of Montana, the sentence is 35 years without prole, I am searching to find a way to ask if it can be amended to with parole. I don't know where to start. My son has served almost 8 years, the trial, and sentenceing was considered to be a bit harsh by many. I as his mother would like to see that justice is served, and yet be just. I would like to see my son before I die, and be here to help him have a oppurtunity to have training, and counceling for a future. He is changeing for the good thru the years searved, many guards even think he should be given a chance. Where do I begin

Grassfire.org Alliance

Key Amnesty Vote tomorrow. Forward to friends.

Cindy,

Harry Reid has scheduled a cloture vote on the Dream Amnesty
Act for TOMORROW (Wednesday).

This comes after citizens like you again shut down switchboards
in opposition to the Dream Act when it was pushed as an
amendment last week.

Now, Durbin and Reid are pushing the Dream Amnesty Act
straight to the Senate floor as a stand-alone bill --
S. 2205 -- despite overwhelming grassroots opposition!

But to rush the bill directly to the floor, they must pass
a "cloture" vote first.

Cindy, we simply must stop this latest effort to sneak
an amnesty bill through the Senate. These are the same tricks
Reid tried to use this summer to pass the Bush-Kennedy bill.

+ + Action Item #1 -- Fax Reid, Durbin and your senators

We need thousands of faxes immediately headed to Reid's office,
Durbin's office, your two Senators and other key senators.

Go here to schedule your faxes:

http://www.grassfire.org/22042/offer.asp?rid=12032496

(As always, we have posted sample letters and the fax numbers
if you prefer to send your own faxes.)

+ + Action Item #2 -- Call, Call, Call!

We simply must shut down the switchboards today and tomorrow.
Every Senator needs to get thousands of calls. Please call your
two Senators today and tomorrow, as well as these key senators:

Sen. Hatch 202-224-5251
Sen. Bennett 202-224-5444

Key Senators:
Durbin (Asst. Maj. Leader) -- 202-224-2152
Reid (Maj. Leader)-- 202-224-3542
Shelby (AL)-- 202-224-5744
Hagel (co-sponsor) 202-224-4224
Lugar (co-sponsor) 202-224-4814
Brownback (KS) 202-224-6521
Grassley (IA) 202-224-3744
Lott (MS) 202-224-6253
Cochran (MS) 202-224-5054
Hutchison (TX) 202-224-5922
Byrd (WV) 202-224-3954

Our staff has compiled a list of all the Senators who
currently have "no position" on this bill. Go here:

http://www.firesociety.com/blog/107/17693/?src=111

+ + Talking Points

1. I oppose the DREAM Act because it provides amnesty
to illegal aliens and their families.

2. I urge the Senator to vote "NO" on cloture for S. 2205. This
amnesty bill should not be brought to the Senate floor.

3. A "yes" vote on cloture will be considered a "yes" vote
for amnesty.

We simply cannot allow Reid and Durbin to sneak this bill
through the Senate. Thanks for your immediate action.

Spoof or Not .. This comedy has some merit.

I don't know about you, but it sure seems like both the Democrats and all but one of the Republicans favor this type of interventionism.

i live next to a rented property (i own my own house), last tennants were brilliant, new couple that have moved in are neighbours from hell, not approachable at all, tv on with bass box realy loud untill midnight most nights, shouting and slamming doors.
car parking now is a nightmare as they have 2 cars and 2 bikes and have taken the space that i used to use out side the house. it seems that whoever gets home first gets that space leaving me to try and find somewhere else. ( i cant park outside my garage as there is no driveway and me parking there would prevent anyone from getting past).
i had an understanding with the last tennants that i had this space and they had the space behind outside the garages. this was never a problem.
ive tried to approach them about the issue and suggested a solution that was ammicable but they havent stuck to it..
what can i do cause this is begining to become realy stressfull.
