Could it be because he supported the large Armenian descendant population in California?

""Armenian-Americans have been pushing for passage of similar proposals for years. Ronald Reagan, a Californian, was the only president to publicly call the killings genocide. Others have avoided the term out of concern for Turkey's sensitivities.""

I am a single mother of a 4 year old daughter who has a deadbeat for a father. He's left her life and has never looked back when she was only 1 1/2...well, unless I force him to see her. Anyway my fear lately is if something happens to me I don't want her to go to him. I'm looking into writing a will and listing gaurdians for her, but even the lawyer told me that doesn't always guarantee anything. How do I go about legally getting full costody of her and having his rights to her gone? His name is on the birth certificate and I do have a child support order on him but he ignores it. At this point I realize I'll probably never see a dime and I'm okay with that...I just want my little girl safe. He's in and out of jail, bounces from place to place and can never hold a job. Please help!

I'm a Libertarian, and I think that socialized health care is both morally wrong and contrary to the ideals this country was founded on. But that doesn't matter. I'm trying to figure out a convincing argument that will allow me to play devil's advocate when discussing this issue. Because let's be honest, if you can't argue both sides of an issue than you really don't understand it. The approach I'm taking goes back to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The government cannot restrict those things without some sort of due process. This is why you have the RIGHT to a lawyer when you're arrested, in order to preserve your liberty. Not having access to a doctor would restrict your access to life itself, and as such must be provided. The government has a moral obligation to get you into a doctor's office if you're sick, just like a lawyer's office if you're acccused as a crime. Would anybody like to help me work on this? And please don't reaffirm what I already know.

Why is it like that? What do *I* get out of it? If I don't personally benefit from it, why should I be forced to participate? If my benefit is not immediate, isn't it wrong? Should I apply this outrage to that other thing where I benefit at the expense of others? Cause I never consider that, its just not important.

I dont like how family and enjoying life has become less important to many Americans. Work is taking over everyones life. I think this has to do a lot with the Government, because they are who make the rules. But how does my generation change that?! im 21.....

Stephen Colbert announced his candidacy for president on "The Colbert Report," tossing his satirical hat into the ring of an already crowded race. "I shall seek the office of the President of the United States," announced Colbert on his Comedy Central show Tuesday, as red, white and blue balloons fell around him.

I say WHY NOT? As if Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Romney, Guiliani, or Thompson would be any worse! You want a viable 3rd party candidate ladies and gentlemen? THIS is about as close as we're all going to get! Imagine the message this would send to Washington if the host of a Comedy Central spin off from "The Daily Show" actually won the 2008 election! I say let's do it! COLBERT 08!
