Legalize it but tax it heavily.

The government wastes too much time and taxpayer money trying to stop the sale and distribution of pot.

It is a gateway drug, though, and not totally harmless. I think there should still be a "taboo" attached to marijuana for the safety of our citizens. No drug is risk-free.

I don't smoke, but I do think it should be legalized. It is safer than alcohol.if they made pot legal, they could use more resources to fight a real drug war on meth,it's way worse than crack.I never heard of a person dying because they smoked too much pot.I never heard of a person being killed because they were stoned and driving 5 mph and hit a car.I think all drugs should be legalized,it's a persons choice, people are going to do them anyway,no matter what the punishment.the dea will never stop the drug trade it's a losing battle.spend the money elsewhere like health care or buy a country and ship all the homeless there so they can rot.

I personally think that there are alot worse things that go on that should be put above busting 16 year olds with a bit of grass on them. I mean do you know on adverage a sex offender gets less time then someone caught with 1lb of marijuana? thats rediculous!!! I dont know if it would or wouldnt be right to legalize it but really i think they should stop wasting so much money on "busting" pot dealers when there are child molesters and must worse drug offenders out there. I do think that if it is legalized they should alot intense the law on driving under the influence because many people think its ok to drive high, what idiots! I've even heard someone say "I drive better high" are you serious?? People like that should loose thier licence.

I believe yes, marijuana should be legalized for medicinal purposes only. I'm assuming you're talking about smokin' the stuff. :o) I actually believe that hemp should be allowed to be grown in the US, since hemp seeds have health benefits and hemp cloth wears better than other natural fibers. Hemp also grows very well without the use of pesticides, which is better for the environment than cotton, which requires the use of a lot of pesticide.

YES.
and for anyone who disagrees i would like at least 10 reasons why it shouldnt be. i can name so many more bad things about alcohol than marijuana.
there has not been one reported death due to marijuana, but lets stop and think about all the drunk driving accidents that have killed people included 2 of my best friends...

its used to help people, such as cancer patients and people with really bad migraines, etc.... so why is it so bad?

i do no longer smoke weed yet I see no reason it won't. people who smoke weed are going to smoke it in spite of the regulation. in case you like something only like some human beings like beer your going to do it no be counted what actually anybody says. Plus weed is far much less risky than alcohol. inspite of the reality that i do no longer see that happening for atleast yet another 15 years while each and every physique of those strict retarded previous human beings who think of its so undesirable die off.

i laugh at the people that say no to this question as they imbibe alcohol and suck in nicotine.

alcohol and nicotine will kill you alot faster than marijuana

the only and i mean the only reason people are against marijuana or find it taboo, is because it is illegal, otherwise nobody would have a problem with it

it should be legalized to erase the stigmatism attached to it.

why not, I see people write becuase of principle... well thats bs why the prohibition on Marijuana weed never killed anyone yet alchol has killed millions... it all digs back to politics and the our waist of resources in unwinable wars like the war on drugs. Instead of treating people with adictions as criminals we need to realize this is a medical problem. just my though

Smoking marijuana is just as common as drinking. I don't smoke ciggs or marijuana so it really wouldn't matter to me. It think that it should be used for medicinal purposes but I'm not so sure about making it legal for leisure purposes.
