At least there wouldn't be any more fighting over which one got to be the "receiver".

I've been in long-term relationships with women had had very different political view than I do -- and while I'm not a liberal, the basic principles still apply.
As long as both sides are willing to discuss the merits of the issues -- and willing to be rational, and back up their arguments with facts -- and willing to avoid personal attacks or sweeping generalizations -- healthy debate gives one more topic for conversation, and adds interest and spice to the relationship.

Its hard to see how someone with such drastically different view on life could become my life partner. Marriage is a serious decision and should not be decided by her daddy's shotgun.

not at all. many female conservatives that i have met think that lots of the male conservatives out there are real douches, and are surprised when they find a guy that respects them and treats them as an equal. i have rehabilitated several in my life.

just see rightwingers post below mine as an example of the kind of things neocon men say that many women find childish and distasteful.

It would never happen. I don't care how hot she is, I would never date a conservative. I cannot date outside the human race.

Many people go through life with a disabled partner, so having one that is mentally disabled, should not be a deal breaker

Bahahaha...Too funny. I've always thought that liberal men were a little light in the loafers. You pretty much confirmed that by asking about their life partners......

I wouldn't have married my wife if she wasn't intelligent and independent and could actually think for herself.
THINKING is "liberal".
Doing what you are told is "conservative".

Being totally serious, there is no way I could live with a republican woman who expressed her views. I know that's not pc, but true.
I would have to kick her to the curb and move on.
