When the federal government undertakes anything, they ususally foul it up. I can't see that these proposals could work unless taxes are raised on the working people (middle class) in America. Everything the government does is cluttered in red tape and incompetence. Why do so many Americans support the government running the health care system when they don't do anything well?

top marks to bush for being brave enough to meet his holiness the dalai lama and lend his support to the idea of a free tibet.
perhaps with the support of the worlds most powerful nation there is a chance that tibet could once again be ruled by its own people.
surely this is the first smart thing bush has done since he came to office.

I think its more important to put any Democrat in the White House other than Hillary, Im worried that it doesn't seem there is a lot of love for Hillary, and if the primary elections choose her, will she win? The existing Democatic controlled congress isn't getting anything done, I'm worried

If technolgy evolved where a parent would know their child would grow up gay, would/could that increase the number of abortions, for that specific reason?

So, if this happens, will gay leaders oppose abortion?

hes set to return from deployment in February 10th.
they extended him 3 months.

My question is will he have to stay longer in the army?
Or will they begin to discharge him when he comes.

Its like 3 weeks from time he shouldarrive to time he should get out.
My other brother had to "clear" I think he said, clear his post for like a month.

Does this mean my brother WONT be coming home on the date he was suppose to?
Trying to make plans for him, can someone help?

I am form the wonderful South Australia where it would seem that people are more concerned about Robbery than offenses against children.
On the news tonight our premier cries out that he wants tougher laws on Armed robbery, two men got 8 years before they can get out on parole.
He says its a ridiculous sentence and has called for tougher from the judges or Parliament will step in.
Followed right after by A story on a man who was found to have thousands of images on his home computer of children being RAPED by adults.. it went on to say he was sorry and that really he wasn't a pedophile he was social phobic and didn't get out much..
We were told that his wife and two young children needed him and so his sentence should be lenient...
It was 2 years SUSPENDED sentence...

Am I the only one who thinks this is an outrage?
I don't intend to take away from the victims of armed robbery, it is an horrific thing
In my view it is FAR worse to abuse the trust of an innocent child.

We all know that guns could be used for defense or murder. We know that other things could kill, most likely less but sometimes more effectively than guns; For example: knives, baseball bats, cars, chainsaws, etc. The difference is that guns have the intended purpose of effectively killing people. But is that "intended purpose" enough to justify prohibiting its use by anyone who freely wishes to use one or two?

You republicans are always talking about illegal immigration. Every time I turn around, a poll is showing Giuliani increasing in popularity. He is the strongest PRO illegal immigration in the race on both sides. He advocates and verbalizes his support openly. He created a Safe Haven for illegals in NYC, which he still defends. Not only that, New York is about to give licenses to illegals. One republican is being badgered for opposing it. Guess who is against the republican, not Hitlery?

You all verbalize being against something then support a liberal minded Giuliani. Killary, I mean Hillary, is a better candidate because she has enough sense to know that she has to deal with the American public. Thank God, I went Independent! You democrats and republicans are pathetic. Giuliani and Killary are politically schzophrenics. There is not a good candidate out there, except Obama. I think he is committed to fixing our borders, so I am voting for him.
