I am a 48 year old New zealand citizen. I have lived in Australia as a permanent resident for 7 1/2 years. I want to immigrate to Canada, as my partner lives there, we need to be together. I am a horticulturalist, dairy farmer and at the moment a serviceman in the mining industry,(Truck driver). I am going there for 3 weeks in December
I want to know which option do I take. Do I need a lawyer? Can I do this online wth visaexpert.com? Should I arrange work over there? Thank u for ur time

Simply apply at the Canadian Embassy for an immigrant visa and present all documents needed. Be sure to establish a credible work record and ability to pay for the expenses of your stay in Canada.

Do it yourself. A lawyer is unnecessary. Having lived in Oz will make no difference if you are not a citizen. Why not go to Canada for a while before you decide to immigrate. If you do, you can keep both passports.

I know i'm just spitting out a website, rather than providing actual answers, but I believe it's worth it to look at the canadian immigration policy.
