If President of IranMahmoud Ahmadinejad was involved back in the Carter years?

for capturing & holding Americans illegally for 444 days - why don't we bring charges against him in the world court?

No case will prosper unless a valid complaint is filed supported with evidence proving that Ahmadinejad had a role in the capture and detention of Americans for 444 days.

Because the World Court is a useless body. Plus Jimmy Carter would not have the backbone to do anything to stand up for the US
