It would be the Muslims against the rest of the world

Democracy will fail in the Middle East and the Radical Islamic mentality will take over causing them to form a Caliphate an Islamic Empire that spans all the Muslim countries. They will then use all the oil money that Arab countries have earned and use this to build the biggest army the world has ever seen numbering some 100 to 200 million. Then they will wage war against the West by invading Europe and other non-Muslim countries to try and fulfill their ancient prophecies of world conquest, which they believe that Islam will take over the world.

Russian and China will sell them the weapons to make their army, so they will stay out of the war at least for the first couple of years until they percieve the Islamic empire to be a threat even to them so eventually one of the countries may also join the fight against the Islamics.

By this time even the Islamic empire will posses nuclear weapons so the West will not use nukes because they don't want to have a MADD scenario. So the war will be fought on a purely conventional level, but so much more massive than the world has ever seen before.

(Allies) USA, Europe, Australia, India, Israel vs (Enemies) all Muslim countries.

lol, did you say Turkey allay with USA? that's most unlikely since the relationship between the two countries have reached a point where they would much rather just have a fight that keep the peace. Turkeys relationship with Iran, Syria, china and Russia are better than they are with the west.

if there was to be a WW, i would say Russia would not stand against US. the two countries have had a bad past but today they are rather good comparing to US relationships with other countries like turkey. i would say Iran, Syria, china, turkey and other Turkish countries like Turkmenistan and most of the Arab nations have similar believes so they will be defending each other. US, EU, Russia, japan, south Korea and Israel would be on one side because they have always been except for Russia. but their interests with Europe will put them with that group. the battlefield would probably stretch from middle east into eastern Europe and down to Africa. china would probably even go as far as Australia until they are held back by the US navy. Iran would besiege Korea and control the Arab forces. turkey would cross into eastern Europe before they are put into a halt by the EU forces. Russia is likely not to fight at all unless they come under attack. if russia joins the battlefield turkey would surrender easily and which will end the war fast. if russia joins the other allaince with Iran and stuff then the war will be a bloody one and the outcome will be uncertain.

Unfortunately, WWIII will be global suicide, therefore in answer to your question, as long as there's rational superpowers who believe in MAD, there will be no WW3. By definition, the next world war wil be nuclear, how could it not. In a nuclear war there will be no winner. In a nuclear world, the only true enemy is war itself.

The next World War will involve a nuclear exchange, how could it not if both sides believe no price for victory will be too high. In the first 30 minutes, nearly a billion people will have been vaporised, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.

Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant life will die. You ask what country would be victorious, you are asking when will we commit global suicide. My answer is it won't happen soon because the larger superpowers are more rational than the rump states in the middle east.

While we hear talk of a nuclear-Iran or a confrontation with NorKor, little is said about the 2 bulls in the glass shop. The arsenals of Russia and the US are enough to destroy a million Hiroshimas. But there are fewer than 3000 cities on the Earth with populations of 100,000 or more. You cannot find anything like a million Hiroshimas to obliterate. Prime military and industrial targets that are far from cities are comparatively rare. Our biggest threat is from an accidental launch by the Russians.

At the point of global suicide, it doesn't matter who is on what side.... In a nuclear age like i said before, the only true enemy is war itself.

It could be USA vs China, bit given their symbiotic trading relationship, that seems unlikely.

I don't think there is much chance either of the Islam vs the West either. The Islamic world is very divided and weak therefore militarily. Their peak influence of financial clout is waning as the oil begins to run out. The first Islamic nation to use nuclear weapons will be obliterated by the US.

Perhaps the era of world wars is over. Remember WW1 was only a European war and while WW2 covered much of the globe, it was essentially two seperate conflicts:

Germany against Russia [Europe was only occupied to neutralise the threat on the German's Eastern border, Russia was always the prize (liebensreum - living space)

USA and China against Japan, a war which began in the early 1930's with the invasion of Korea, then China.

It would be USA, Israel, UK, Western Europe, Canada, Australia, Japan South Korea VS Russia, China, Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, Eastern Europe, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey (don't forget they now have a Islamic elected government after 70 years), Jordan, but if you ask me it will be USA vs. Russia & China by attacking Iran US may succeed in starting the World War III

This depends on your definition. If you mean a large number of nations engaged in all-out warfare, this is unlikely. Today, conventional forces are insufficient to battle every foe. Most operations in the future will be precision strikes using hi-tech weapons as well as special operators. Stealth and intelligence will outweigh firepower and numbers. The days of WW2 are over. No more mass infantry and armor advancing on the enemy. Nations will more likely exchange precision attacks until one side gives up, or gets destroyed.

Also, nations don't always ally themselves with others based on tradition, history or similar beliefs. In WW2, we became allies with Russia, run by a ruthless dictator, out of convenience. My enemy's enemy is my friend. We won WW2, but it opened up the next one, the Cold War, with was much worse.

As far as who our allies might be, this is not a clear cut answer. Recent 'decisions' 'we' made have lost us international support, and even respect. Allies we might have thought we could count on, may turn their backs on us. Those we thought as enemies may become our allies.

As for the Muslims vs World, Muslims are not the enemy, Muslim extremists are. There is a difference. Our war is with those responsible, not those who wear similar clothes. This is the mistake they made. And its not the whole World. Most have too many problems of their own to be worrying about another terrorist. Some of these countries have been living this hell for many, many years. And there was no WW3 then.

NATO countries (hope you know the members) and its allies such as Japan and South Korea versus China, North Korea and its allies. Russia is very iffy because it doesn't meet eye to eye with China so its participation shall most likely be dictated by self-interest.

to find the answers to that questions is easy, any country that does not like the US would be the enemy. China has the only army that would give us some what of a challenge.
