hes set to return from deployment in February 10th.
they extended him 3 months.

My question is will he have to stay longer in the army?
Or will they begin to discharge him when he comes.

Its like 3 weeks from time he shouldarrive to time he should get out.
My other brother had to "clear" I think he said, clear his post for like a month.

Does this mean my brother WONT be coming home on the date he was suppose to?
Trying to make plans for him, can someone help?

Shut up about the dates people okay.
Seems like no one really knows anything for sure, especially that air force guy.
Army different than the air force numbnutz.

and everyone else that just has to answer this question without knowing for sure..kiss my butt.

Why do people try to act smart when the best answer is I dont know...or just not answer

Sorry but right now conjecture is all you've got to go on! He will be home when he's home I know that sounds harsh but it's reality! Once his tour is up the company will have to return, he will have to do reintergration training (usually two weeks - everybody does this before they can take leave), clear post and go through certain classes pertaining to ETSng. The unit can also make him help with "recovery" and getting the unit settled back home before clearing. Just depends on the command. He may even have to take his two weeks of leave and then come back and clear/ets - not usual but possible. You can plan in generalities such as he will be home sometime in March or April but plan on changing plans a few times and PLEASE don't post specific dates on here it's really bad OPSEC (security) and those dates are by no means set in stone! Look at this way you WANT him to get things done right and also be evaluated for PTSD, medical screening, etc before he comes home.

I know it's hard to plan, be patient just think about all the wives! Soon he will be home and the wait won't seem nearly as long as it did when you are in the middle of it. Heck he may even shock you and reenlist!

edit: Hey rudness is not necessary - people are just trying to help you. If you don't like the facts that's to bad it doesn't change them! The fact is that nobody will know specific dates until closer to time - not even the commanders!

Im a US soldier here in Iraq as well, your brother will go back home after the 3 month extetion is up, yeah he has to clear post, meaning run around post and get a bunch of signatures from different stores, hospitals, units, libary, ect.. so he can prove that he owes them nothing and is free to leave. After he does that he can clear post and go home. How ever fast he clears will dictate when he'll be home. hope this helps.

not sure how the army does it but i know the AF requires you to stay in 30 days after you return from deployment before you can ETS.....2 weeks to inprocess from deployment 2 weeks to do your final out. if thats the case in the army he would get out mid march sometime. you really shouldnt give out dates on the internet though. OPSEC.

First of all, please do NOT give out specific dates, it's opsec!

Second, yes he can be extended and he'll get out when he returns (unless he decides to reenlist.)
