Somebody once told me that the difference between going to school in America and going to school in Australia (or any other non-American country) is that you don't have to worry about being shot in class.

I've been in college for more than two years now, and there have been so many school shootings. To be honest, it makes me on edge. I have a CWP (Concealed Weapons Permit) but federal law prevents me from practicing the 2nd amendment while on a school campus (among other places, such as a post office and police station). If the law permitted it as well as school policy, I would pack every single day I went to school, for the sake of my own protection. Too many school shootings and too many helpless students.
I think this is a very legitimate question and I think more people should ask it. Please share your honest, insightful opinion about this question and the reasons it either should be legal or should not be. Keep in mind too that I said students with CWPs, not just any student.

I noticed that "socialist" and "socialism" is used most extensively and more loosely in USA political debate than it is in Europe.
This fact causes some misunderstanding when, for example, a non-American speaks to an American.

What is in your opinion a socialist policy? What countries are socialist ?

The L.O.S.T. treaty gives UN control of the high seas and allows them to levy "fees" for it's use
It is being voted on in the senate very soon.
Is this good or bad for the USA?

If the government are going the way I think they are with the latest report on obesity and start forcing companies to release only low fat foods what will happen to the rest of us that aren't fat? I'm really underweight and find it hard to find things with decent amounts of calories which are healthy anymore.

I've done the TPS thing about 2 months ago but it's got worse if anything. If I scream or blow a trumpet into the phone will there be much chance of being sued? I know they are calling from Bangledesh or somewhere but usually at the behest of a British company.

But then someone wrote to the police and said he was an unsuitable person. After that he didnt get the job because of this person.
If he can get the person to say they were bitching on him will he be able to wipe his slate clean or will he never get another chance as everything is on record. We live in the UK

Round about 13 years ago when I was learning archeology I read some where that the Army corps of engineers had Archeologists assigned to them or had a unit of Archeologists.

I am wondering if this is still true and if so if the position is/was a civilian or a military one.

I am also wondering if any one has more information about the “Human Terrain System” and what qualifications are necessary to participate (i.e. is it standard Military requirements , or do they make exceptions for civilians).

I found a number of sites breaking down the principles behind the project but nothing about the entry requirements, but any info is appreciated.

Thanks.

In the Korean War, USAF pilots in magnificent F-86 Sabres racked up an impressive 26-1 kill ratio against North Korean and Chinese (and a few Russian) fighter pilots in the fabulous Russian MIG-15.

Most military aviation experts would rate the F-86 as the better all-around fighter, but the MIG definitely had some strong points: better high altitude performance, faster climb, a cannon instead of machine guns.

In Korea the MIGs could fight closer to home than the Sabres, but better USAF pilots managed their fuel and still managed a high kill rate in MIG Alley.

Strip away the obvious advantages. Both fighters are based close to the combat area. Pilots are about equal capability. Weather is good.

Kick the tires, light the fires, and may the best jock win!!

Just who might that be?
