... "do you mean someone I can cheat on all of the time and she'll put up with it"?

I meant someone who is focused on achieving something worthwhile.

Will the ones who claim that their rights are being violated now by President Bush be as outraged that she will be listening in on Americans that oppose her politically?

Stephen Colbert is saying he'll run for President. Could this be shades of the recent Robin Williams movie where because of a computer glitch a comedian was elected President. The thing I remember most about the movie was the non-politician made more sense in what he said than the politicians did.

Some other movies have had similar themes and in every one politicians came up short. Could we be on to something here? I know it can't be easy being a politician. But then again do we really need politicians running things? It seems to me they have made a mess of a lot of things.

*LOL* Maybe we do need a comedian running things.

Loyalty to George W. Bush? Or health care for millions of children? In a crucial vote on Thursday, that's the choice that Republican members of Congress will have to make.
There's nothing complicated about this. George W. Bush is the last man standing in the way of children getting the health care they need. And he can be pushed out of the way with 15 more Republican votes.
But, it won't be easy. These lock-step Republicans have lined up with one failed Bush policy after another. They'd rather break the hearts of children and their families than break with Bush.
Please no republican talking points about how this only helps adults or only helps rich kids, if that were true you republicans would be supporting it and bush would have signed it into law since he LOVES helping rich people.

and it made me wonder what other things, that are at the moment only frowned on, will be legislated against by the government.

Eating too much salt, sugar or fat?
Talking to passengers or scratching your nose while driving?
Looking at somebody a bit funny?

Nothing is so irritating when your on the highway driving 40 mph in bumper to bumper traffic and your in the center lane and some idiot wants to ride 6 inches from your rear bumper...you want to scream: Where do you want me to GO...there is NO-WHERE to go....Every normal driver hates these a$$-holes.

So this is what I did....I slightly moved up the wind sheild washer directional so that it doesn't hit my wind sheild but rather squirts over the top of my car and hit the guy behind me...oh and I don't put in wind sheild wiper fluid...I use milk.

works like a charm!

I've been doing this for over a year now and I always lose the tail-gater.......they are so busy running their wiper blades trying to get rid of the smears across their glass and they NEVER have a clue where it's coming from.

I bet the bad drivers that read this will be pissed to read this

... unless I cave in and allow imported oil to be used to heat our house.

Which should I do? Listen to the Dems and only buy American ? Or should I keep my kids warm with imported oil even though it will destroy blue collar jobs in American oil fields?

"The Prince William County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday night and passed a resolution to deny some services to illegal immigrants.
The policy is one of the toughest in the country and has already been met with protests, boycotts and a federal lawsuit. Officials had said the decision could impact several other counties around the country.
The board voted to allow police to check the residency status of illegal immigrants if they are suspected of breaking a law. The measure also means that county services such as housing assistance, drug rehab for jail inmates and senior programs would be denied to illegal immigrants. "

In the army, most troops carry M16s and M4s, and at least a few in small squads carry Squad Automatic Weapons (SAW). I've always wondered, how does the army/marines choose the people to carry/use it?

According to Associated Press, "Commanders in Iraq have decided to begin the drawdown of U.S. forces in volatile Diyala province." The article goes on to say that troops from a nearby, semi-peaceful, province will spread out to unclude the Diyala province.

Are they trying to screw this up so the American public will once again support the war? That's the only reason I can think of that troop withdrawl would begin in someplace "volitile."

Does someone know why this is a good idea?

I have seen some appalling questions and answers concerning civics and government that indicate a lack of basic knowledge of the systems that govern our country. One person stated that if he were the head of the National Security Council, he'd arrest the President. Isn't it common knowledge that the President chairs the NSC? Others say that the President should be impeached for violating the Geneva Conventions. Anyone who makes this statement obviously knows little about impeachment or the Geneva Conventions. Does anyone else think that we need to educate or re-educate ourselves on how our government runs? Perhaps then we'd be able to have meaningful discussions and debates using facts as the basis of our arguement rather than emotion. This is not to get into the meaningless conservative vs liberal debates, it is a challenge for us to learn more so that we can be better informed citizens.

I share a vacation home with family . We are all gun owners. Family members leave ammunition in the house in unlocked cabinets and on shelves when the the house is not occupied. I would like to know if there are laws pertaining to storing ammunition in a residence in Indiana, I am of the mind that it is a dangerous proposition to leave it in the house and/or left in a unlocked cabinet. This is a rural area and break-ins are not uncommon. I am fearful someone may take the ammunition and cause harm on our property or elsewhere. Am I right to be concerned? Are there any laws in Indiana that cover only the ammunition in a house if the firearms are removed? Family members are of the mind that without a gun the ammunition will not cause harm so it is ok to leave it in the house because the guns have been removed. I wonder just what might be the outcome if some kids break in and take the ammo home and try it out with Dad gun. Tks Z.
