Stephen Colbert is saying he'll run for President. Could this be shades of the recent Robin Williams movie where because of a computer glitch a comedian was elected President. The thing I remember most about the movie was the non-politician made more sense in what he said than the politicians did.

Some other movies have had similar themes and in every one politicians came up short. Could we be on to something here? I know it can't be easy being a politician. But then again do we really need politicians running things? It seems to me they have made a mess of a lot of things.

*LOL* Maybe we do need a comedian running things.

You say this in jest, but, I think a non-career politician would be the best bet. Joe Average, a middle-class working man with a mortgage, kids and debt. Who better understands the needs of working class people better than that? No Ivy Leaguers, no silver spooners, no millionaires...just a regular guy or gal who has had to work hard their whole lives to make ends meet. I would bet safely that if this happened, schools would improve, healthcare would be affordable and we would not be throwing money away on invasions and occupations as we are now. Example. GWB said no to money for children's healthcare but asks for way more for his occupation....go figure.
