Because they are clouded by lies and falsehoods that are given them by the Democrats. I agree that a lot of the illegal Latinos that I know of are on welfare or recieve some type of gov. help. But not all of us are like that. I am born and bread American Hispanic. I am Republican. I feel the Republican party, at least in theory, upholds the American lifestyle in values and family issues. A lot of Latinos are family oriented individuals by culture and nature. So why would they vote for people who support abortion, higher taxes, and homosexual agendas? It doesn't become us. Handouts do take precedent over what's right in some people's thinking I guess.

The Democratic Party better serves the interests of ordinary working families, ordinary working people. I am an ordinary working person, ergo I vote Democratic. This is hard to understand?

I don't believe any larger segment of the Latino population would necessarily overwhelmingly vote for either party.
With that said, I believe the ones that would vote Democrat would do it for the "free prgrams" the Democrats advocate. They would be greatly disappointed to find nothing is truly "Free!"
