Think about how hard an average family's life was in 1960. People at the poverty cut-off today aren't much worse off than an average American was in 1960. Right?
What clothes do poor kids wear to school today? What did your relatives wear in 1960? How well did the car work? Medical care for a poor person is light-years better than it was in 1960. Example: There were no heart bypass operations.

In August, 1992, then Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney answered questions after giving a speech at the Discovery Institute in Seattle. Operation Desert Storm had been over for 18 months, and the troops were pretty much home. 146 Americans had been killed, and Kuwait and its oil had been liberated.

I am 25 years old, 5 feet 1 inch tall, petite, got no muscles and lame. I look stupid when I run coz I don't know how to run at all. I did not play when I was a kid so I grow up physically inactive. But I want to join in the Army, I started exercising and plans to undergo furthermore personal physical training before entering..but I am being discouraged coz there might be vigorous physical activity when I am in and I will end up quitting...Will you still encourage me to join in the Army? Within the last year the gang related crimes have increased in the United States from being on the decrease back in 2003. In some cities, such as Hartford, Connecticut, gang related crimes were so bad, that the police department had to bring in state troopers to assist the department. I don't know if anyone knows anything about the bay area, but in Oakland the gang related incidents are so bad, that it's difficult for the city to recruit police officers even with an offered salary of 100k. My question is, how can America try to control terrorist and Al Qaeda, when we can't even control American street gangs?

Im in the navy and my husband is in Iraq (god bless him!!) It just upsets me when people say things like the military act like middle schoolers. Its those middle schoolers that are protecting us and fighting for our freedom. I think they just are a lil ignorant on the facts of the military and what they are here for. A jerk family member snuck up on me while I was disciplining my stubborn dog, and was filming me. He claims that I was abusing my dog and he says that hes going to send the video to people and show everyone he can think of. I wasn't hurting the dog, this relative is a stereotypical tree-hugger type of guy. He makes it sound to others as if I was an axe murderer! Is sending this video to others legal??? I had know idea that he was standing there. His sole purpose to show this video is to slander my reputation, by making me out to be this evil person that I'm not.
