Most everyone is right, but pretty much everyone is wrong as to why.
They are a citizen because the Constitution says so.
Amendment 14
1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the
jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State
wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge
the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any
State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of
law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the
laws.
Only an Amendment can change this. Not a law, not a
Presidential decree, only an Amendment. And since that has only been done 27 times in the last two centuries, It's unlikely to change anytime soon.
Noamnest4u, such a law would be unconstitutional.

Yes, any person born in the US is an American Citizen no matter if the mother is illegal or not.
A Child is also a citizen if the child is born in another country if either of his parents are citizens.

yes as things sit in our Country now, but also in this country children under the age of 18 don't get a vote, nor do the illegals. It is wrong to use children to steal American rights from the American people.
I personally feel badly for the way illegals misuse their own children. I feel that the children should be aloud duel citizenship and if their parents go through the proper channels to become American citizens and if not the children should be excepted here when they turn 18 years of age.

Yes they are. I have a friend that his parents lived just across the border from Yuma AZ. His mom had problems with his delivery and they transported her to a US hospital in Yuma to save her and his life. He is an American Citizen because he was born here but his mom and the rest of the family are not.

My friends sister in law is from mexico and she wanted to have her baby here (USA) so she could get her papers through that child. Shortly after having her daughter, she was deported and they warned her she couldn't come in this country for the next 10 years or she;d be put in jail. they also mentioned that her daughter would be welcome here because she is an american citizen and that unless she got a good lawyer, she wouldn't be able to get her papers through her daughter (they put her on file).

Currently, yes under birthright law. However, it does not grant the parent status and the child cannot sponsor the parent until the child is 18 years old. The House of Representatives has a bill sponsored at present to repeal anchor birthright law for children born to parents illegally here. HR 1940, I believe is it's designation.
BTW: Most of Europe and Asia do not have birthright citizenship for children born to illegal aliens. The US is one of the few nations that grant automatic citizenship to children born to illegal aliens. It is past time we change the law to require a parent be legally here.
