I think the welfare system should be replace with CCC and other work programs.?
The government will be able to get a lot of work done like parks, and painting over graffiti and other odds and ends, save money and the people will be working for their paychecks so it's not a hand out and people can get that pride you feel when you earned a check.

And also more government agencies can offer maybe resume writing classes and allow employers to advertise at central locations.

We can also have Americans doing "the jobs American won't do" and it's a win/win situation.

I've noticed lately that there is an increasing number of carbon-copy republican talking point postings on political blogs, websites, etc., including yahoo answers - politics. Their opinions are so similar to official republican talking points that I'm suspicious that so many folks could be that stupid to support the Bush/Cheney's administration - could they be paid political operatives?

Being considerd for employment in Oregon and while doing my background check a prior employer was negative in saying I was not elgible for rehire. Background is I relocated from the midwest to Arizona for a management position with a paper company. Several months after employment the company went through a firing blitz & the new manager from day one was biased making comments about my age and pay and from the start I could not do anything right. He also offered to let me out of my relocation contract worth 20K + if I would quit. The employment ended for me three months later with his decision to move in another direction of team building and giving me several weeks pay after 8-9 months of employment, I was never counseled, written up or given any discipline. Now a possible employer came back saying the HR mngr said i was not rehireable. This companys policy has always been to only verify dates of employment and title. Now prospective employer feels I may have done something wrong.

Jose works for a magazine publisher. Jose works out of his home and furnishes his own supplies. He pays his own taxes and uses his own car for his work. The magazine publisher reimburses Jose for gas mileage. While driving in his car on a work-related matter, Jose is involved in an automobile collision with another automobile.

Would Jose be liable? Why or why not? Would Jose's employer be liable? Why or why not?

Case in point - the fact that Clinton fired all 93 U.S. attorneys when he took office is all over the internet, as a rebuttal to the Bush attorney firing scandal. They whine about how nobody cared then. But they don't actually go out and find out WHY nobody cared. It was a non-event, because that's the normal procedure, to pick new attorneys at the beginning of a president's term. Most presidents do that! It's only firing them while they're doing their jobs - for political reasons - that is a scandal. How many more of their opinions are based on simple, sometimes willful, ignorance?

Assuming Universal Health Care would cost you much less, assuming you would get quality care, assuming there were absolutely no ceiling on your coverage... would you still be opposed to Universal Health Care soley on the grounds that your tax dollars were going to provide complete health coverage to others who didn't pay the same amount of taxes, or any taxes?

Would you chose to pay significantly more for private insurance, even if the only 'benefit' was the satisfaction of knowing that people who had no insurance, or less insurance, were suffering because of it?

From the BBC today:
Russia sparks Cold War scramble

The Tu-95 pilots exchanged smiles with their US counterparts
Russian bombers have flown to the US Pacific island of Guam in a manoeuvre reminiscent of the Cold War era.

Two Tu-95 turboprops flew this week to Guam, home to a big US military base, Russian Maj Gen Pavel Androsov said, a story confirmed by the US.

They "exchanged smiles" with US pilots who scrambled to track them, he added.
The sorties, believed to be the first since the Cold War ended, come as Russia stresses a more assertive foreign policy, correspondents say.
The flight is part of a pattern of more expansive Russian military operations in recent weeks, says BBC diplomatic correspondent Jonathan Marcus.

Old practice
Gen Androsov said the strategic bombers had flown 13 hours from their base in the Russian Far East during the exercise. We prepared to intercept the bombers but they did not come close enough to a US Navy ship or to the island of Guam to warrant it.

Why do u criticize Bush for the war when:
1. many of the terrorist involved in 9/11 were Iraqis or had a friend or a relative living there
2. Iraq did have WMD, we have found them all
3. Hussein and Osama used to hang out together
4. We are now highly respected all around the world for liberating the Iraqis.
PS: I need some advice from u guys, I have just been sold a beach front property in Colorado, Do u think I made a good deal?

These are the kinds of issues conservatives should be pushing harder on, instead of attacking teachers and affordable healthcare. It's one area where I'm not with liberals.
How about the judge who let the rapist go free? Delete.
I don't give a Fudgesickle if we don't pay for a translator for a man who speaks a rare language from Africa, if he raped a child. Getting rid of the insanity in our "justice" system that pays big bucks for a psychiatrist and judge to declare John Cooey not mentally retarded.

Hey, we've aready tried a nanny cam for a month, and the day we took it down, the tire got slashed. My mom has only been living here for a year and a half, and her tire has been slashed 13 times already. It's our dumb religious neighbor who says I'm the child of Satan just because I scuffed her car when i was parking once. I paid her 100 bucks for an invisible scratch on her car, and said, "i hope your'e happy" every time she walks out in the street, i hope a fed ex truck will smack her head on. the day my mom moved in, she came busting at the door attacking my mom with questions like, where are you coming from?, what spirituality are you?, you single?, married?, divorced?, retired?, working?, what job ya got?, this your car? and crap like that. I don't want to go to jail for battery assault, and my mother isn't going to be forced to find another home. What should I do?

why do liberals want Bush's aids to testify under oath, it's a slippery slope, if Bush loses his power of executive priveledge the people might expect their ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES to be accountable for their actions, they're probably telling the truth, they're just not comfortable swearing to it in case their testimony should become "confusing"?

If you look without adding propaganda (that the national news spouts) into the equation you can see what may happen, fairly easy. I can see another attack and the elections will be canceled because marshal law is declared by Bush. Bush will continue to be the President until the NAU is created...at that time there will be a voting, that will only include the elite, to decide who will chair the NAU (a makeshift "President" and be over the working groups of the SPP. (I hope I am not correct, but I was dead on about the US attacking Iraq when I said it in 2000 and I could see Bush doing this also to stay in power)

Bush has already created the laws (by sign in statements added to other laws) which would make the implantation of removal of the people's rights and the completion of the North American Union very easy to finish.
