Hey, we've aready tried a nanny cam for a month, and the day we took it down, the tire got slashed. My mom has only been living here for a year and a half, and her tire has been slashed 13 times already. It's our dumb religious neighbor who says I'm the child of Satan just because I scuffed her car when i was parking once. I paid her 100 bucks for an invisible scratch on her car, and said, "i hope your'e happy" every time she walks out in the street, i hope a fed ex truck will smack her head on. the day my mom moved in, she came busting at the door attacking my mom with questions like, where are you coming from?, what spirituality are you?, you single?, married?, divorced?, retired?, working?, what job ya got?, this your car? and crap like that. I don't want to go to jail for battery assault, and my mother isn't going to be forced to find another home. What should I do?

Your mother can file a police report against your neighbor for harassment.

Have you reported this to the police? They can advixe you on what constitutes getting proof that is acceptable to the courts, without you doing something that is considered to be illegal.

I would park the car where a camera can watch it, where the camera is out of reach of someone outside the home, and you have flexibility in managing it so that it records any movement out there, day or night, and you can re-use what is nothing happening.

Make sure there is good lighting where the car is parked so the camera works at night.

Ask the police or a lawyer what the rules are in your state for having an insane person committed to a lunatic asylum.

Remember the Virginia Tech mass killer. That guy was thought to be insane by various teachers professors. They reported him to the law as being some kind of a lunatic. A judge ruled that he was to get a menatl health examination. He never got it. That was a breakdown in Virginia law, in that the judge had no followup. They busy closing that loophole.

This wouman sounds like the next VA Teck mass killer.
You have a duty to turn her in to the authorities before she graduates beyond knife slashing of car tires to something more serious.

Odd that the tires would be slashed the day the camera came down. Is that a coincidence you think?

I would keep a camera running 24/7 with night vision until you caught someone! If you don't, you either have a leak of information, or someone other than your neighbor is doing it who would have access to the information regarding the camera!

ah man that's hella crazy. what you should do is try the cam again if that doesn't work then you should probably go to the police and explain your situation, perhaps have them talk/question you're neighbor maybe she'll back off knowing she's under suspicion or that the cops are looking into it or maybe you can ask the cops to keep an eye on the premises for a bit.
good luck bro, hope everything works out for ya

Make sure you set a camera up at night so that they don't know that you are doing it. Try positioning it in your gutter or in the garden and zoom in on your car. I don't know how much you are willing to spend but 13 new sets of tires would have cost you a LOT of money so I suggest investing in a very capable camera or a private investigator who will be able to nab those that are ruining your tires. Then you can go to court and sue her for the cost of the tires, the camera and the private investigator.

Go to the police, make a complaint. Ask them for help or guidance. Put the nanny cam back up too, inconspicuously though.

Tried and Used a nanny cam is the point. When you used the cam , no trouble, when you tried it with no camera, trouble.
Put the camera back up, (seemed to work).

Put up NO TRESSPASSING SIGNS, BEWARE OF DOG, or get a a giant dog if you have a fence. Or sleep underneath the car for a while. Bad thing the lady next door. I've lived around of a few of them. And they can really get your temper going. I would say some more, but you know, big brother thing............

Put the nanny cam back up but hide it, and if it happens again, call the police and tell them to bring fingerprinting kits when they come.

set up a camera inside the car or somewhere where the camera can see it...it also would be a good idea to get motion sensor lights so whenever someone walks onto your driveway the light goes on and should scare them away
