... here at YA, and that the content of your posts, along with your identity, would become known nation-wide, would you continue to express yourself in the same terms you use now?

For instance, would you be any more or less respectful of other people and their views? Would you use bad language? Etc.

This question is for all, regardless of political affiliation.

Legal question. Would like a lawyer to answer or someone who's been involved in this type of situation. Can discrimination happen illegally at a workplace if different races of all types (Hispanic, black, asian, etc) have put in for the same types of promotions as whites, yet everytime a white caucasian is given the job and it is proven that the promotions were by the same set of people in each promotion? Or does the discrimination have to happen to a set race group? (Black)(Asian)(Hispanic)

Investigative reporter John Buchanan broke 60 years of silence recently when he uncovered documents showing Prescott Bush's business was seized by Congress in 1942 for trading with the enemy. Now Buchanan has gone even further, documenting Prescott's role in many more Nazi-related businesses as late as 1951. "[Democrats.com co-founder Bob] Fertik and others, including former Justice Department Nazi war crimes prosecutor John Loftus... believe Prescott Bush and the Harrimans should have been tried for treason. Now, say Fertik and Loftus, there should be a Congressional investigation into the Bush family's Nazi past and its concealment from the American people for 60 years. 'The American people have a right to know, in detail, about this hidden chapter of our history,'

A lot of you probably saw Michael Moore's new movie, Sicko. While it is great that more people have become interested in the healthcare of the U.S., Sicko is not the best source of info. You come out of the theater thinking, Wow...what a great idea universal healthcare is. The insurance companies don't care about squat, its all about the money. While some of that is true, universal healthcare (UHC) isn't all that peachy. For example, many people complain aot the high cost of healthcare when you would just be paying the around the same amount in taxes. Nothing is "free." Competition among companies has always led to greater cost control and effectiveness Waiting times for regular check ups and surgeries can take up to 6 months, a year, or longer. Is it fair that you, a healthy person, will have to pay for operatios caused by smoking, drinking, obesity, etc. when the atients could have prevented this. Will the gov. be willing to pay for costly new technology or medicines?

It's so silly to hear right wingers say that any of the TV news networks are "leftist"
Hahaha
If there really WERE a liberal (not even really leftist) station, can you imagine the boycotts and rage from the neo-cons?!

For example, on a discussion of universal health care, a neocon will inevitably write "I don't want to pay for other people's health care" (even though they do so now if they have insurance) or "it will destroy freedom of choice." Other examples: invoke the evil spirit of Bill Clinton by mentioning that he was impeached or had an affair with Monica; mention France in some disparaging way (e.g., "why don't you live in France with all the other surrender monkeys?").

Give as many examples as you want, mentioning the context if necessary to make the question more understandable. Go!

Immoral: Contrary to established moral principles; violating principles of right and wrong.

Was Saddam that great of a guy that we shouldn't have him taken him out of power and give Iraq back to the people?

But then you say " There wouldnt be as much chaos and suicide bombings as there is now "

Maybe but there still would have been a unnatural amount of deaths under saddams rule
Why didnt the UN force him out of power and take more action against him when he invaded Kuwait. I mean WOW, no fly-zones and sanctions/ bans on trading, that caused hundreds of thousands of deaths amoung the Iraqi population. Then came the oil for food program lasted almost 6 years. Throughout the years the sanctions had to be eased because of the mass malnutrition of the people. Obviously Saddam didnt change , or the Iraqis take a stand against him because of the amount of fear built up over 20+ years amoung the Iraqis That didnt affect him in one bit but it did put more burden on Iraqs people.

I know of an incident where there were four people involved in a crime. Everyone was locked up except for one person whose parent is involved with a cop who was on the case. Can something be done about that? The person can not lie about being there because they are listed as one of the witnesses.

Yes, a man named Pedro Guzman was wrongfully deported back to Mexico. Now, how is that since he's American (born and raised)? But he was found, thankfully?

It seems that they were iiresponsible and down right wrong to have make a mistake like that.

It seems as if they need to fix whatever they need to so this wouldn't happen again.
What do you think? And if you were deported, how bad would you want to sue the government?

Why does America insist on forming a democracy form of government in other countries? Haven't we learned our lesson with Vietnam?
