And is it too bizarre to think that three candidates from New York would be vying for President?!?!?

The typical effect of an independent or third party run is victory for the rival candidate those voting him like /the least/. The elections of 1912, 1992, and 2000 serve as examples. In reverse order; liberals voting Nader in 2000 contributed to getting Bush into office; conservatives voting Perot in 92 handed the election to Clinton; and, republicans defecting to vote for a third term for Teddy Roosevelt in '12 allowed Woodrow Wilson to gain the White House. (Actually, that last may not have been so bad, Taft is remembered as one of the worst - or least effective - Presidents).

No, Bloomberg as an independent candidate would be a spoiler. He would take left of center and moderate Republicans form the Republican candidat; right of center and moderate Democrats from the Democratic candidate. People who would vote for the candidates of the usual third parties might vote for Bloomberg as well. If there are sufficient voters apposed to a female candidate; a "black" candidate; a pro-choice or anti-abortion candidate; a too-liberal or too conservative candidate; you can add any other opposing positions you choose) who don't mind voting for a "Jewish candidate", Bloomberg could determine the victor.

(I personally don't think that he would win.)

If Fred Thompson runs, I think the Democratic candidate will win.

It is really much too early to tell. In no way whatsoever do I see Bloomberg getting more than 1% of the vote. Outside of NYC and Y/A Politics & Government, nobody really knows who he is.

I agree. If Obama doesn’t %. her as vice chairman after she publicly suggested she might settle for it, her supporters probable might by no potential vote for him. some probable might reluctantly vote for him, just to work out Hillary in place of work. yet while he denies her maximum possibly they won’t vote for him, wherein case she might bypass as an self sustaining and take her supporters together with her. As you assert the party is already chop up. lots of her supporters vow to vote for McCain already. If she runs as an self sustaining she might take a number of the votes far flung from Obama. If she doesn’t they might vote for McCain besides.

It doesn't matter. Guiliani is not going to win and Hillary will - no matter how you slice it.
